We (I say we, I actually should put I as OH didn't really give a fig!) wanted Always by Mary J Blige and George Michael. The DJ didn't have it though so we settled for Brown Eyed Girl - which OH still plays on his Ipod every now and then and pulls me up for a dance 11 years on.

Do you mean 'As'? (Maybe he couldn't find it if he was looking for 'Always'?)

It's one of the very few Stevie Wonder covers which I like :)

  • One of my favourite subjects :)

I walked down the isle to In my life by the Beatles. We walked back up the isle (Dh chose this one) to Thank you by Led Zeppelin.

Our first dance was to Eleven Years by New Model Army - we'd been together nearly 11 years when we got married and it was one of my favourite songs by the band
It's nice to be nutty but's more important to be nice
  • From this moment by Shania Twain.

    I do!

I never knew it was called As - THANK YOU! I was just singing it loads to H2B at the time of our wedding.

I only found out 2 years ago it was a Stevie cover (I am a huge Stevie fan) Explains why I like it.

There's no chance the DJ had it even if we had got the name right - he seemed quite a fan of the 80s, love him. Nothing recent during our disco :rotfl:Hence why Brown Eyed girl was easy for him to find in his collection.

No music at my wedding, which was in retrospect a mistake.

No problem, I love the George and Mary cover and could watch the video to it over and over again!

Your DJ sounds ace, I love 80s music! :T

(For anyone who is curious, interested or who doesn't know, 'Gangters Paradise' is a cover of Stevie's 'Pastime Paradise', Will Smiths 'Wild Wild West' is a cover of Stevie's, 'I Wish' and The Red Hot Chili Peppers did the cover of 'Higher Ground').

    I'll shut up now :o:rotfl:

  • my oh and i are hoping to have out first dance to You & Me by Lifehouse - I'm planning on finding some dancing lessongs/someone to choreograph something for the song specifically. We also want to incorporate Everything by Lifehouse, Chasing Cars by Snow Patrol and Bliss by Muse - not sure how/where/when they're all going to fit in, though! Plus, after reading some threads on here I am completely enamoured by the idea of us walking out to Muse's Feeling Good. It's perfect! D:

And at the reception our first dance was Stand inside your love by Smashing Pumpkins

I absolutely love this song and want to come in to it - OH is not convinced though :(
