    I think she was rude.

She shouldn't have said anything like that to you, she should have smiled sweetly, taken your parcels, bid you good day, then had a moan at her employers!

    Cheeky moo!

Do I detect a hint of sarcasm or have I read that wrong? Apologies if I have!

well to use my RM experience
    you will never win
try shutting the door on a Saturday with people still streaming in heading for the door
Ive seen me still serving an hour after closing with people still arriving

What is this 'Royal Mail against the world' attitude that all RM emplyers seem to have?

It is not a privatised company, but the attitude seems to be that they dont have to act as other PLC's do. Retail is to serve the customer, to serve their needs. It doesnt appear to be the case here.

Or neither does it at my local post office.....I got a card saying 'we couldnt deliver as I wasnt in etc' and that i needed to pick it up from the post office at the following times -

    Monday-Friday, 7.30am-4pm.
Great, I couldnt have it delivered as I was at work, so they put pickup times when most people are at work. Genius

No, I wasn't being sarcastic at all!

She should have treated the OP like all the other customers she had served that day.

I have worked with the general public before and although the shops shut at 5 or 5.30, I've been still serving upto 20 minutes after and not been paid extra either.

Like I said before, if she has a problem with her working time or the shops closing time, she should be complaining to her employers, not the OP. It's rude and unprofessional.

sorry, where do you garner that from. is your slight aimed at me?
as i said in my first post on the topic.
I wouldnt go into any store that late.
or am i not allowed that opinion?

what is it with people with issues on opening times who feel the need to jump in on an unrelated topic?

ps my old office is open 7am-8pm weekdays,6am-2.30pm Saturdays.
guess what, people still complain they cant get there

Well in fairness, it doesn't really have much to do with anything does it? That's fine that you personally wouldn't go to a shop that late, but as a customer, I'm fully entitled to go into a shop that is still open.

    That's a bit unfair isn't it?

You pretty much dismissed my post by saying you wouldn't go into a store that late, so you're basically saying because you wouldn't, I shouldn't?

What is it with you and thanks?

The OP hasn't thanked anyone on this thread, only been thanked themselves on a few posts.
