  • Same here, it buys you a few days, mist stores print the cheques but even if you have to write it out it only takes seconds.

Anyway, how would I be refunded if I were allowed to pay by cheque?
I would like to thank everyone who contributed to the Ramada/Days Inn BRG thread.

They do take cheques, a bloke paid by cheque in front of me a week ago, but I now think they are strict on the value up to the limit on the quarentee card.

I cant belive people still use cheques when buying stuff in person yeah the money takes a few days longer to leave your account, proberbly because the extra time it takes to bloody write the thing it takes ages just use the debit card.
yes i saw a chap paying by cheque
he was a security guard though
  • You would be refunded in cash, only option really.

Tesco do accept cheques, and as far as I know there are no plans for them to stop. They have recently stopped taking them over the gaurantee limit, which they used to do with supporting id. The use of business cheques has also been tightened up.

Couldn't find this listed, apologies if its already been posted.

Digilogic DVRW2 DVD Recorder (the kind you plug into your TV). White SEL by display boxes £74.97. White SEL with demo product £67.97 R&R no problems.

I find this incredible, I have immense amounts of hassle wherever I go, and whatever I get R&Red, especially for expensive items! I wish the CS round my stores would lighten up :(

Strange thing is, I usually get loads of hassle at this particular store as well!

Its a bit to do with the psychology, I think. About five minutes before I 'purchased' the DVD recorder I pointed out to a CS a whole gondola of chilled party snacks that had NO use by date on them, not even on the plastic wrapping inside. I just notice stuff like that - I'm forever pointing out stuff past its date as well. Now, she was a little shocked that it was out on sale and said thanks for pointing it out. "No probs," I told her casually. "My mother works for trading standards and I know how you get hammered for this kind of thing." (Strictly speaking, my mother actually worked for environmental health, she had to retire through ill health, and anyway, she lives 150 miles away.)

Well, would YOU start quibbling after that? I got my R&R, Mr T escapes bloody great fine (it wouldn't be the first time this year this particular store ended up in court) and, I like to think, a few hundred shoppers avoid a nasty bout of the runs. Everybody wins.
  • Failed on the Phones again :wall:

Going back to see if the DVD players are there!!
We took on Mr T and we won:D

Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now

Takes just as long to use the card.

Remember kids, just use cash and get out of the queue.. ;p
