I've had a disapointing Tesco visit. Took an R+R shopping list, found one item Steven Fry - The Little Book of Ignorance, sticker was a penny less than the SEL. Also found a Jamie Oliver sticker a penny less than the SEL. Bought them, charged the right price. I'm sure Tesco did this on purpose.
What can I do now, take them back?0 -

I think they are doing the 1p thing to thwart the Rnrers (my theory). I have noticed this mainly on the meat section with the new SEL's being a penny OVER the price showing on the pack label.DTD - Doing Tesco Daily - while I still have vouchers!0 -
In all honesty how hard would it be for someone at Tesco to monitor this thread and as soon as someone tells us about an R&R especially for 1p over they reduce the price nationwide?0

Was in my local Tesco today, had a quick scan of the xbox 360 games and found one game that had a sel of 37.96, but the game on the shelf had a different sel (in a clear box) of 37.97, the 37.96 sel barcode ended 02, the 37.97 sel barcode ended 00. I am right in that the sel ending 02 was the valid one ?0

Personally I would have a bonfire with the Jamie Oliver book...
...and read Mr Fry's offering
Take them back Dude - get a refund.
I know that these Tesco threads do take a lot of reading - but it is worthwhile - I can recall historic posts both pointing out that these two books scan at the lower price.
And well done for getting out there and having a go!

What, Tesco charged the correct price on purpose? That's disgusting! I'd complain to your MP at the very least!
Enough wacky conspiracy theories please. :rolleyes:Can I help?0 -

I'm not the Barcode King but I think I'm right in saying that the '00, 01, 02 etc' refers to the latest barcode edition.
So in your example the item would have probably scanned at £37.96 - this being the latest barcode - '02'.
So to answer your question - "Yes!"

PS Do tell - what was the game?0
