yasinp wrote:hi guys, just got back from sir tels place, didnt manage any r&r's unfortunately, however had a quick question, SEL for a book was £12.96, sticker on the book was £12.97 and when i scanned it was £11.96, is this an r&r? i'm assuming not, can anyone confirm, thanks.
I'm not surprised you didn't get any r&r's if you don't know the answer to this!0 -

I absolutely agree, DeadHead. I have got multiple xbox/PS2/PSP/DS games without ever scanning anything. Generally, if a game misprice is on here then it may be R&Rable until the prices change on Fridays. Best to try within 24 hours of reading a games or DVD misprice IMHO.
You DON'T need to scan anything to do R&R (if you are looking for items recently posted here, that is). Books are generally R&Rable if the sticker is lower (if not just return them), 'price per kilo' errors are R&Rable if the SEL is lower than the pack.
As for errors where offers don't kick in, you can't even check these on the scanner. Any newbies should just make sure you are looking for the newest misprices, not something you read last week, as not many misprices last that long (an exception being the annuals of course!).PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

When do the games which have been on offer go back up to full price? Previously it seemed to be on a Friday when the new weeks offers became available, but recently they seem to be scanning at the cheaper price for a good few days longer. Has anyone else noticed this?0

the normal price everywhere else is £44.99 tesco discount them to £40 but we all know £39.99 looks better, so tesco go 1 step further and knock them down buy another 2p to £39.97. as a standard price for the range.
you see a game for £37.96 it looks cheaper so entices you to buy it over any of the other games. and is stuck on the poster as GOTW to make it more noticeable.
OK I started typeing this a few hours ago, I have since been and repaired someones PC returned home and this is still here so it may appear out of contex, it was a reply to Squareroot's post #834

you are correct the game of the week in the past has returned to the normall price on fridays when the GOTW changes but last week they played a trick and changed it tuesday or wednesday I think. It is now just a game of cat and mouse trying to work out when the prices revert to £39.970 -
Hi guys,
Not sure if anyone is interested in trying an R&R on this but "Innocence smoothies" are reduced to £1.97 according to large SEL but small SEL under the backberry and blueberry flavour says £2.25 (scans as this to).
I asked a lady stacking shelves if the BB/BB flavour was included and she said yes because the large SEL did not state which flavours were included and it was clearly a "smoothie". She then made sure the checkout girl put it through at the lower price.
Missed out on an R&R but still saved me 28p)

What's Tesco's general returns policy for games? If it's still sealed will they refund for it? Incase I take a game to the checkout, buy it only to discover it's no R&R'able.0

If it is sealed then I tend to get the assistant to put on the till receipt that it is a present. Not sure if I'm buying the correct thing. If you take it back then you are usually ok. If the seal is broken they dont normally take them back even though that is how they sold it to you. I'm in that position at the min having to sell on Fleebay as I was sold one that was unsealed. We took on Mr T and we won:D
Shame it had to end, will have to get free stuff from comps now :beer:0 -

Yeah, I felt a bit dodgy trying to scan games through plastic cases. Especially when it wasn't working. Looks like I'll just have to keep an eye on here.0 -
returning unsealed games, I have returned a game unsealed as it was faulty, they replaced it with another copy of the game but this one was sealed small hint for you. I did have an unmarked reicipt as I actually bought the game.
scanning stuff in the security boxes can be a pain, i always try to get a new box, one that hasnt been scratched where the barcode is to give a better chance of it scanning. I also hold the box so the barcode is up against the side near the scanner. remember the scanner will scan the barcode at any angle it doesnt need to be the right way up. I have been known to sick my keys up the holes at the bottom of the boxto hold the contents to the side of the case also. I love the new PSP game cases.
I now wait for all the inuendos about sticking things in holes, bottom and boxes. It got worse as I typed that bit.0 -

Dont know if this is true but it sounds likely..
I heard that they price things at .97/.96 etc to keep at the top of the table on price comparison websites.
Like I said, dont know if thats right but if most places like Game/HMV/Virgin etc price them at .99 then it would work.
EDIT: Actually, just looked at a few comparison websites, none of the ones I looked at even show Tescos so maybe not, although, much as it pains me to say it, tescos are cheaper than some of the ones that are top of the lists!Missing Tesco R&R since Feb '07 :A & now a "Tesco veteran" apparently!0
