Thanks for the info, I wasn't sure as the receipt had a AID number on it and the refund foucher they gave me also had the same AID number. Wonder if it will show up on their system if I try to get another refund.

Anyone tried a 'Golden R&R' when you paid with a debit/credit card?
  • Theres a couple of new extras opening in the next few weeks in the nottingham area, perhaps we should all descend upon them.

Ive decided its miserable bassa day today, I spent most of the night on the xbox and the rest of the night sleeping on the controler.

I think all the talk of "Golden r+r" needs to go back to where it came from. It was somthing that was thought about and done but never mentioned and one of the reasons the ethics thread was created. continuos talk about it will force Tesco to make steps to sort it out and retrain CSA's that they need to mark recipts.

I started using the self scan this morning and halfway through my scanning I spotted the Queen's head looking up from a crisp tenner in the cash dispenser under the scales. The same thing happened a couple of months back too. Every Litte Helps. Keep your eyes peeled for that tray at the bottom, it's quite low down and hard to spot, but there might be an extra little present in there from Sir Tel!

Curious about something, can anyone tell me why the barcodes on games (for example) have 2 different endings? I notice they might end in 00/01 (made those numbers up just so you get the gist) They both seem to scan at the same price, I think. The SELS just usually have the barcode of the item with one or other of the endings and not both which is what made me think I'd come across a misprice the other day but I hadn't. With no scanner to hand, I thought the barcode would be informative, but it doesn't seem to be? Is barcode checking just a waste of time.

Sorry if I'm going over old ground here, just trying to get my head round this idea.

The barcodes are different for different products...a barcode on atesco label looks something like this

    051022236-0001/123456789012/01

The first part ending in 22236-0001 is the Tesco product number and no information regarding R&R can be gleaned for this. The number ending 012 is the EAN (european article number) and is product specific. On variable weight items the numbers in the "901" positions will indicate the price that you will be charged at the checkout. The final two digits "01" are the label version number. The higher the version number the later the label so the highest version number (if more than 1 label is displayed) is generally the price that you will be charged.

    Hope this helps.

    Lead,

Can you expand a bit on how you were rumbled on the double refund - I've never heard this happening before.

And a PSP console mis-priced this week - news to me - want to share?

    Duder

Hey Dude.....Ive still got PSP's left off September mate....just biding my time getting full value for them..............

Re rumbled on the double refund, don't know how it came about, must flag up on their system, but a few of us got the letter after losing quite a few points from our totals, saying we were abusing the system.....this was in the "glory" days when I was a Tesco Credit card holder.........which actually was more in the "black" than the "red"......if you know what I mean........
    Couponing....."every little hurts"

Not being funny mate, but if there is anything there, its not from Sir Tel, its someone who forgot/didnt look there, I almost did that the first time I ever used one of those self scan things but the lady came over and told me about it, she said it shows up on their computer that notes havent been removed from that tray so you were lucky they hadnt noticed. Whoever used it before you wasnt quite so lucky though.

That said, if I saw a note there, Id take it too!
