Can anyone tell me if Tesco's can actually do anything about someone getting R+Rs? I ask because I went in today to get presents for my nephews and nieces, and I ended up getting getting four Mr Men books and paid 13.97 each instead of the stickered 12.97. When I went to the CS desk the CS assistant called the Duty Manager and she took all of my details including clucard number and told me they would be keeping an eye on what I bought cos she suspected me of abusing the return policy. She was really rude and confrontational.
What could they do? Ban me from the store? I think they would be unable to do that as their pricing policy is clearly stated, but I'm not sure.
Please help!!!

Seems harsh treatment. Yes they could ban you, in theory, as they could any one.
I stared for too long at your avatar, I think I need therapy now

Hi Louise,
I'm afraid Tesco do have previous history of banning people, Tesco can actually ban you from the store for NO reason at all if they wanted to. Some have had thier bans lifted... I'd suggest maybe avoiding that particular store for a short time and possible trying your luck in another? Buying 4 of the same books is going to attract some unwanted attention to yourself esp depending on what else you bought with them...
Hope this helps a little, although there are some great guys here who may have more experience etc0 -

Hi Louise.....Yes, unfortunately they can ban you for this, Tesco's is private property and they can ban anyone they wish.....also as they have your club card details, they could (depending on the maturity of the manager) pass your details onto HO, and keep an eye on your points balance to see if you are getting RandRs at other stores.
As the above poster suggests....Dont use your club card if you suspect you are going to get an RandR......and its also wise to use cash........and then give a false name and address if requested.
Tescos have no lawful right to demand your name and address, so you have no lawful right to give it.Couponing....."every little hurts"
Half of the people can be part right all of the time, Some of the people can be all right part of the time.
But all the people can't be all right all the time. .........I think Abraham Lincoln said that.

OK I'm now livid, a very large section of this discussion thread has gone missing and why ?????
I have checked the remit for moderators and abuse and feel most if not all of the post did not contravene these so a couple of question........
1/ Who deleted all of the post ?
2/ Why were they deleted, if ur brave enough to delete them then explain urself !!!
3/ This is not a big brother regime if is a discussion forum and exist because of the people who use it and not the moderators, I have read in depth what should be reported and deleted and whom ever it was has overstepped their authority.
4/ Stop it and let the discussion flow if u don't like it then don't moderate this forum, it should not be just what u like.
So come on Redfox if it was u explain or do u just want to push all of us away ?0 -

Have you had a lot of refunds from this particular store? If not, I would seriously consider putting in a complaint to the store's Customer Services Manager. State that you were accused of abusing the policy when you've actually done nothing wrong. After all, Tesco illegally overcharged you. They broke the law, not you. Yet you were made to feel like a criminal. In a rut? Can't get out? Don't know why?
It's time to make that change.
