i saw one of the stands with the consoles & games on which said buy console & x game & save ???? today. I thought all these had disappeared.
Sorry to be so vague on prices0 -

Following last weeks Maped Erasers fiasco, I decided to pick a proper one this time.
I found a lovely piece of beef, with a different SEL. The other packs had been re-priced with a sticker, but not mine.
I wandered to CS desk with it and they called for and despatched a person to check.
Came back with 2 other pieces of meat and said 'these' are reduced, but yours is a different type.
I pointed out that mine was the same.
The official line was that it was an error and mine hadn't been re-priced, I was then offered one of the other pieces of meat as a swap.
I said well i picked that one and what about the price overcharge thingy, pointing to the sign.
*I won't give you a refund on that, it was an error not an overcharge and this piece of meat is bigger*
As you can guess, i ended up with the swap.
How would you have handled it?
I didn't feel i could say I don't want it now, as i wouldn't have bought it in the first place.
this happened to me last week. was in the exactly same scenairo with 3 packs of siroloin beef, they couldnt give me rnr so at the end i refunded all the meat and called head office straight away. after 10 minutes of convo, the guy in Ho called up the store and later on they asked me to go back to store as manager said she would sort something out for me. at the end i was offered back 3 pack of beef for free, but never saw the manager- i think she was just gutted! she even told me to goto the local trading standards and cant give me the RnR because i picked up the wrong pack and its a HUMAN error that mine one wasnt reduced- i pointed out its TESCOs error but she just didnt give in.
to keep profile low, dont raise the issue to HO...
if they already recognise dyou, which they did to me and dont think you will return the store anytime soon, call HO! i told HO im not fuss about the beef but i want my moral!!!
good luck!0 -

Firstly always go with the CS to the location where the misprice is, so that you can show them what you picked. Explain that you would have expected the price to have come irrespective of whether the sticker was on it or not. If they were stacked together on the shelf, they should either stickered that aswell or removed it from stock. Say that you are happy with the piece of meat you have chosen whichwas why you picked it up in the first place. request that error or not you were overcharged at the till, as the discount did not come off, as such you have not paid the price advertised and you would like to take advantage of their policy regarding overcharging.
I all of this don't come across timid, appear confident and be fully aware that you are in the right. If they say they will only offer a swopped item or a part refund, ask to speak to the manager.
I find meat a hard one to be honest unless you are clearly making notes with your shopping, as it kind of shows too much thought and awareness for the SEL. Books, DVD's, etc with stickers are far easier to get your teeth into and harder for them to squirrel out of.I had a plan..........its here somewhere.0 -
Cuttlefish, you don't happen to live in the North West do you?
As tempted as i am to phone HO, I think I'll bide my time until I find some more.
The Maped eraser things were still in the same box as last week, with an incorrect price on them. (dimwits)Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -
Mikeywills, thanks for that.
I actually had my shopping list with all the prices next to things on it, (sad)
I said that I expected the discount to have come off at the end, as it did with the lemon and garlic roast in a bag chicken last week (grrrrr).
The bloke was quite in my face and was trying to blame me for picking up the only one without a correct sticker on.
I will keep hunting.Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no: 203.0 -

At least you got as far as you did !!! lol
I am still awaiting my first r&r, thought I had one the other day, but I was so excited about the prospect that I was reading the wrong SEL, ended up with a refill for my plug in air freshner thingy that gives me a headache !!!
Better luck next time, I thought, although I have been saying that for a few months now. Maybe we could go together !!!I am in the future you know...
...9 hours ahead to be exact !:D0 -
orainsear wrote:Yeah I remember reading your posts about that now. I take it that when you went for the R&R that you hadn't provided them with any indications as to who you were - i.e. no names/addresses prior to the swarm engulfing you and they presumably put 2&2 together on their own and worked out that you were the 'scammer' they had been warned about?
Yes, exactly right. And that's why I know for definite that information was circulated between stores, and that information didn't find its way through my letterbox in response to my Data Protection Act request.orainsear wrote:I'm presuming that you obtained an R&R from the first store on an XBox 360 and were attempting it again in the second? If so, and the store was already on alert about a 'scammer' it seems a bit odd that they would leave the misprice available to be taken advantage of. It sounds to me like they simply didn't do their jobs properly - and if they were aware of the misprice they were knowingly breaking the law and it could in theory be argued that it amounts to entrapment.
Absolutely. That's a long-running gripe which many of us share. If they can put all this diligence into spying on customers, surely their time and hard work would be better spent trying to comply with the law by eradicating misprices in their own stores.0 -

Another 24 carat pure comedy classic from a Tesco CS person.....whatatwit wrote:*I won't give you a refund on that, it was an error not an overcharge and this piece of meat is bigger*
.... it doesn't get any more preposterous than that. I don't know whether to laugh or cry.
In response to the OP's question, all I can really say is you've got to stand your ground in the face of such utter nonsense. I know it can be intimidating and awkward, but you just have to keep reminding yourself that you are 100% right and the moron who told you that is 100% wrong.0 -
