  • Be careful on the books in the promotional stands.

I picked up a copy of the latest Jeremy Clarkson book, sel on shelf £12.96, sel on promo stand £12.96, stickers on all but 3 of the books £12.96.
I picked u one with a £9.96 sticker thinking it was a sure R&R, ended up paying £9.96!

However the silver lining is that I finally got a copy of the Gordon Ramsey book sel £8.96 scanned at £9.96

Guys & Girls - If anyone is in the Banbury area, Mr T has just finished a big store refurb. A friend tells me they are still in a bit of a pickle with re-stocking the shelves and thus it must be ripe for the picking up of R&R's.
I can't make it there myself till the weekend, but if anyone does notice any specific Banbury R&R's could you spare me a thought and drop me a PM.

Hi all, I never like to repeat myself, but this post suddenly got lost amongst lots of xbox talk and abuse of some people.
    Hope this helps someone.

I know for a fact that information has been recorded about me at store level, as at least two managers demanded my name and address and wrote it down in front of me, promising to "circulate" it together with CCTV images of my face, and another store already knew about me the first time I ever went there - they had been given all my details by another store and apparently I was a "fraudster" for having prior knowledge of misprices before buying the items.

In the other store, at what point did it become apparent that they were 'aware' of who you were?

When the girl on the CS desk got someone to authorise the R+R (it was a very high value - it took place during the Xbox goldrush in September) and one by one a swarm of managers descended around me. It was a very intimidating and frightening experience.

I've since returned to that store for quite a few R+Rs on games and DVDs, and actually only last week a very pleasant girl on the CS desk remembered me and told me one of the staff involved in my intimidating experience had since been sacked for being aggressive to customers. He was some kind of duty manager too.
  • I think sometimes the over zealous nature of the individual is above and beyond the opinion of the firm. I had an experience recently where the duty manager came down and called for the security guard just as she was passing behind me. I thought to myself 'hey up, here we go', but she just mean't for the guard to man their station. I think she chose to do it while standing behind me to see my reaction, I have a very good POKER FACE so don't think I looked fazed at all.

Yeah I remember reading your posts about that now. I take it that when you went for the R&R that you hadn't provided them with any indications as to who you were - i.e. no names/addresses prior to the swarm engulfing you and they presumably put 2&2 together on their own and worked out that you were the 'scammer' they had been warned about?

I'm presuming that you obtained an R&R from the first store on an XBox 360 and were attempting it again in the second? If so, and the store was already on alert about a 'scammer' it seems a bit odd that they would leave the misprice available to be taken advantage of. It sounds to me like they simply didn't do their jobs properly - and if they were aware of the misprice they were knowingly breaking the law and it could in theory be argued that it amounts to entrapment.

I think I need a volunteer to hold my hand when I'm trying to R+R at my Tesco.
Following last weeks Maped Erasers fiasco, I decided to pick a proper one this time.
I found a lovely piece of beef, with a different SEL. The other packs had been re-priced with a sticker, but not mine. :D
I wandered to CS desk with it and they called for and despatched a person to check.
Came back with 2 other pieces of meat and said 'these' are reduced, but yours is a different type.
I pointed out that mine was the same.
The official line was that it was an error and mine hadn't been re-priced, I was then offered one of the other pieces of meat as a swap.
I said well i picked that one and what about the price overcharge thingy, pointing to the sign.
*I won't give you a refund on that, it was an error not an overcharge and this piece of meat is bigger*

As you can guess, i ended up with the swap.
How would you have handled it?

I didn't feel i could say I don't want it now, as i wouldn't have bought it in the first place.
