NOOOOO! I have just come back.

In store they had them as in stock at £279.97...someone had changed them today..there was a lady going around changing all the price labels in the dvd's games etc. Project 8 was changed so was the simpsons..

    :(:(:(:(

Do you mean that the SEL was £279.97 for the Xbox Premium + Gears of War bundle? If so, isn't that good because it scans at £297.xx? Or am I missing something?

    Hi All,

i won't post the where's and what's for fear of identification - needless to say the products are things already mentioned.

Brought a number of items from Tesco and discovered after paying that i had been overcharged on 4 of them.

Went to CS who added them all up and came to a total and offered me the difference in the overcharge. I drew her attention to the policy on the wall. She said she would need to call the duty manager.

Duty manager came down, i explained what happened and pointed out the policy on the wall. She asked me to show her where i brought the items, so i did.

She again offered the difference - i said no thanks i would much rather tesco stuck to their policy.

She went and rang the manager - came back and offered a good will gesture of full R and R on one of the items - i suggested that a good will gesture would be to stick to their policy as it is written on the board. She then stated that the policy was out of date and they don't do that any more, that was why they were offering me a gesture of good will. I suggested that if that be the case having the board up in easy sight could well be misrepresentation... she admitted it needed to be taken down....

She then called for somebody else, she came over and i pointed out the woman behind me in the cue who was getting an R and R on some meat, and asked why if the policy was out of date was she getting refunded? The Duty manager said that it was because she was buying food items and that the policy was only supposed to cover groceries - i pointed out that it didn't say that on the board - i suggested that they change the wording to reflect the new policy - she said she thought that was a good idea and would suggest it to her manager!

I left without a refund - but was told to ring the manager today. Rang the manager - he explained that they were not keeping to the policy as they had been subject to a lot of fraud lately, people changing stickers on products. He said that there were 2 arrests this month of people doing that and that they would be reviewing the cctv footage of me in the shop and then possibly talking to the police. He said that they were aware i had been in the shop for "some time" - he was quick to point out that he was not accusing me of anything. I suggested it would be a grand idea to review the footage as i had done nothing wrong!! He said i needed to speak to Dundee and gave me the number.

Spoke to Dundee - very helpful - offered me a cheque or an R and R in store. They aplogised and said it should have been sorted out in store.

I am considering complianing to TS about the lack of clarity of Tesco staff with regards their own policy. I may even consider a call to the police as it could be possible i was discrimated against on the grounds of race, the woman they refunded in the shop was white, i am not.....

I would ask HO to send a chq out as you dont want to go in the store again.... you then have chq sent out and an umarked receipt.. go to different tesco and get another refund!!

Does it not need to be at the store you purchased from?

yes, full R&R. They tried all sorts... saying that the label description was wrong, the price was right etc...

shelf label said £259, i thought it would scan at £279, but actually scanned at £297.81. Argued, and they offered the difference, for which i just pointed at the sign, and said i would rather take advantage of your promise. The manager smiled, and said to the CS lady, you'll have to get the big boss down for this one, it's out of my authority.

Big manager came down, and spent 10 minutes trying to find a loop hole, but couldn't. Eventually told CS to refund me! Woo!

nice. Plus, didn't mark my receipt! oh yes!

Damn! I saw loads of these yesterday and THOUGHT it looked a strange price, but I checked the displays around the store as well and they were the same. Has anyone else got these today?

I got overcharged on 4 items today. Lady from relevant section was called "these should have been pulled off the shelves as the price went up today. As it's Christmas the customer can have them at the stickered price" and off she goes.
CS lady starts working out the difference, I point out the big sign behind her.
" Well as they should have been taken off the shelves I can't sell them to you, so I'll refund you in full and take them to the warehouse"

So I said but you've already sold them to me, and I was charged more than the advertised price.

CS lady "I'll have to call manager (get's all dithery), oh I can't deal with this, take them to the electrical department, they'll tell you the same"

Took them to the department, full R&R without asking!

They are previously mentioned items not new ones, although I did look for new ones and found nothing!
I love this board, have "virtually" met so many lovely people, people I am honoured to count as friends.
