    Perhaps the persistant phone calls and texts were in the hope the Manager would notice, and suddenly decide the OP wasn't suitable afterall?

    That number of texts in such a short time constitutes stalking. Leave her alone to do her job. You do not own her. If she finds the job intimidating she will leave, but I am sure that she is capable of making her own decisions.
