I'm wondering if she's panicking hun:(:(:(I did go on the website, at the begining of all this, but will have another look tomorrow.
I think dad was in there for a week initially, with a view to make it a long term placement. Sis and I are going to talk to mum on friday, I am not sure why she does not want the day centre etc, seems everything we arrange is cancelled xx
HJ thanks hun xx"You can't stop the waves, but you can learn to surf"

RR, maybe your mum keeps cancelling because in her eyes to let the daycare / care package go ahead would be to accept that your dad is poorly?
Lowesy, I totally agree with giving the baby what it wants - my cravings were Danepak bacon butties on Warburtons white sliced, copious amounts of mint choc-chip ice cream washed down with lashings of full-fat Pepsi......that was 23 & 25 years ago though!0 -

Trying to get my longer response to you together, but not managed it yet, but dementia can be the worst at night. We did not know until afterwards Dad had not slept in his bed for 6 months before we even realised he had it. Even after he went in the home he would just wander around at night, then sit in the lounge, and have tea and biscuit parties with the night staff. They can be very stroppy, demanding, and refuse help other than they feel it right. They can also be very aggressive to any younger males, but as nice as pie with you. We found that out, Dad would not listen to any suggestions from DB but agreed with anything I said. You need to talk to Mum, investigate EMI homes in your area, best way round it is to find one with a residential status and a nursing status, which then does not necessitate a move as they deteriorate, but not always available. Make sure he goes in a EMI residential as they are the more fit ones.
Once decided, you need to talk to Dad together explaining what must happen, he will resent it probably, but he does not realise what level of care he needs.
