    Morning All,

What a terrible tragedy in Christchurch, poor souls. :(

    Redruby I hope today dawns a little brighter for your family. {{hugs}}

Essexgirl, hope the funeral goes OK. x

Well, boys are off school today again. I have taken a holiday today as I thought they might be, so there will be lots of cleaning, cooking, childcare and soup making going on chez nous.:) If you see me on here too often then give me a poke. ;)

JackieO I hope your arm has gone down a bit, Dazi have you tried one of those topical painkilling gels, I find them enormously helpful for my back?

Not much else to say for now, hugs spoons and hi fives all round for anyone who would like them :)

    Jackie XXX

EDIT also meant to say, its Coco's "birthday" - we've had her one year, today! :j so I'll make her a cake of some sort :)

Morning!! Mrs B has gone off to her placement and The Child is still in bed, probably dreaming of One Direction (she went to The X Factor tour on Saturday with her cousin!) We're off to London today! 5 kids and 3 adults on the train (£5 each, bargain!); we're going to the Natural History Museum. I've printed off food vouchers, made brownies for the train, so am hoping to keep it cheap! Have a good day all.

    Morning all!

Hugs to those who need them especially Hester and Redruby.

We're going to the zoo today!!!! Can't believe it! Our first family day out since the summer, so DD1 and I kept pinching ourselves as old meany pants ( erm sorry, good saver!!) dh suggested it!
Went to Asda last night to get some juice and fruit for the picnic and picked up a few good whoopsies. Best eggs ever..... 5 organic free range large eggs for 20p!!!!! And some fish and bread. Got a box of 6 yogs too for 20p thinking that was a great bargain, only to sicover when I got them home, that the use by date was the 10th Feb!!!!! Eeek! I'm gonna take them back for a refund. DD1 can't believe it cos it's just 20p, but it's more the principle of it, and the fact that every penny counts especially at the end of the month.
Anyhoo, we were thinking of either Hamerton Zoo, or Linton Zoo. Has anyone been to both? Which is best? I have heard of Linton zoo before, but just came across Hamerton doing a search. Any recommendations gratefully received.
Off to make up the picnic and will pop back in here in a while to see if anyone replies.
Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...

I've not been to Linton Zoo, but have been to Hamerton a few times. It's ok, but we were a bit disturbed the last couple of times that some of the animals were fed little yellow chicks (dead, obviously!) and they were in piles in the enclosures. We saw a little girl crying HYSTERICALLY when she was leaning over the wall watching the meercats have their lunch and she realised what was being eaten, not pleasant. It's got a nice covered picnic area, and a really good big playground though!

    Morning all!

Had a lovely day out yesterday, albeit a very noisy one, I'd forgotten just how loud those play places could be!

This morning dd1 and me are off to the cinema to watch 'Voyage of the dawn treader', bargainous as £1 for her and free for me! I love kids cinema! Then back home to grab dd2 and her friend and drop them off at another pals for the day, and on the way back we will swoop down and pick up dd3 from her sleepover! ds is planning a day out with his mate, but will get himself there on his bike.

OS stuff today will involve black bin bags being filled with all the rubbish that seems to accumulate on flat surfaces, especially any that dd3 goes near! Washing is slowly going down, dd2 and ds did piles yesterday - must remember to water down the washing liquid, as both are quite heavy handed, still it does make the house smell nice lol!

Other than that I shall be doing some serious meal planning to work through the freezers and possibly some shopping too, though that may end up as making lists and checking on mysupermarket for bargains! I need to sort out some new recipes, as we have a tendency at the mo to eat the same old stuff, my fault as I had horrible morning, afternoon and evening sickness, so really didn't feel very inventive! Anyway time for some new things!

BM will go on this aft, dd1 is making dd&d's apple braid, her suggestion as there are a couple of manky looking apples in the fruit bowl! dd3 can make something for dinner to keep her occupied, and I shall supervise and hopefully get the fridge cleaned out, how on earth does it end up so full of bits and looking grimy, I'm sure the food is generally clean when it goes in!

EG - hope the funeral goes as well as these things can xx

    Ruby - many hugs xx

    Shez - happy birthday xx

    Morning everybody,

RR- its one of the reasons we're here isnt it,to listen to others in need.In days gone by you could have just leaned over the garden fence and let off steam to friends and neighbours. This thread is the virtual fence,so don't be sorry.I'm sure several of us have cared for elderly parents and been in a similar plight and its a horrible heartrending position to be in.(((Hugs)))
Essex girl- hope the funeral goes as well as it can do.x

I was quite pleased with myself as I made chapatis to go with our curry last night, inspired by a thread on here.Never made them before and they went down well.On the thread it shows a youtube clip, and the woman puts them directly onto the gas burner after dry frying a couple of mins- how she picks them up with her fingers I dont know, too hot for me.Quite exciting seeing them puff up on the burner tho' :rotfl:

Physio says DSs back may improve without an op,but has to keep doing the exercises, see him again on Thurs.Although he cant do anything,he's bored at home now-he asked me yesterday if I didnt get bored at home all day.I dont get chance to be bored, too many things I want/need to do-ok housework gets monotonous, but I'd still have to do that whatever.:D

I'm going to have to do some today :( as its DH birthday tomorrow so we may get visitors.Need to go and get a present too.

The people who came to view the house last week (the ones who were outside ringing the agent if they could view NOW !!)and spent nearly 3/4 hr:mad: looking round dont want to buy.The only reason she could give the EA after umming and aahing was perhaps the garden was a bit small for the size of the house. They didnt even go outside at the back garden!....and breathe...

Right better get to it,hope the day goes ok for you all.xx
