    Hi everyone,

I've not been posting, or reading as much as I want to, it's been a funny old month or two.

I did see the dreadful news about Diva, she was such a lovely person.

I also see a few of us are going through it with family - hugs RR and Candy. I'm a bit the same - some of you might remember dad had a colostomy for colon cancer almost 2 years ago now (he nearly died and took ages to recover), well they have now found a mass in his gullet. He's having a scan tomorrow but tbh I'm expecting the worst and I know they won't operate again.

One positive is that I decided to give up work because mum and dad are increasingly frail and they live 200 miles away, so I finish in a month's time. I can't wait.

Os has been plenty of use of my Christmas present Kitchenaid mixer. I love it and it looks great on the worktop. The downside is that I never ate pizza because I wasn't a fan, then I made one with HM dough and since then we've had one a week they are so yummy.

We went down to see DD on Saturday (it's her birthday tomorrow) and had lunch at Brawn, very good it was too. I had made her a batch of millionaires shortbread and in our rush to leave for the train forgot it so I've been working my way through that. Must stop eating. Mind you I found out why when AF arrived today after a 12 month absence. I thought i was done with that at 52!

Have a good rest of the day everyone, I'll try to post more often, especally when i finish work.

Jackieg thanks for the book info will nip over to amazon and have a look. Also if you don't mind need to pick your brains re chicken wings. (note am staying on the beaked theme, albeit loosely). How many do you give Coco at any one time? Have tried our two with a couple and they loved them, so would like to introduce them on a regular basis just some idea of quantities needed if you don't mind.

After lunch saw my cousin who I seldom see but we are both interested in our family history. Now I am having a coffee and quality time with the computer. :)

Pasta for tea. Anyone else temporarily fed up with cooking?

Hugs to all who need them and poorlies feel better.

  • Snoozer so sorry things aren't going well for your dad. xxx

Jaxx she weighs about 16kg and gets four pieces of chicken a day, a mix of wings and drumsticks, whatever falls out of the bag really. I only feed her once a day, and she normally buries one or two and eats the rest depending on how hungry she is. She then goes back out in the late afternoon/early evening and digs them up and eats them, muck and all  She had been putting on weight over the cold weather but she wasn't getting enough walks with the snow, but her body fat has reduced now and she is a nice size. She also get table scraps and the odd piece of fruit through the day, and if I make spuds, I make one for her too - although she likes them raw as much as she likes them cooked.

I think the official amount for her size was about 1lb a day, I don't actually know if what she has is more or less :o

Went swimming this morning and did 6 lengths, so thats 150m. Am well chuffed with myself.
Spent the afternoon having a nap and then doing some research, through another two books and starting on the pile of readings for film, then I'll step onto the gas and get the PDF's for Shakespeare read (I do love my iPad.....best buy EVER! - all my uni stuff is on here and it's so easy to use)
