Candy - LOVIN' SOTD acronym, very apt LOL
DS is being naked Batman. This apparantly involves not wearing the batman dress up costume but the belt and the cape. Will it catch on and be all the rage? Who knows.....I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife

We luckily don't have naked batman here, but we do have batdog who gets to wear the mask/cape thing and wander the house looking pitiful. poor poor dog :rotfl:It's what is inside your head that matters in life - not what's outside your window

hi redruby . it should be your mum who tells your dad he is to stay in the home as she has made the choice?she will be supported.
Have you tried getting care staff in with ss or did it not work . Your mum whould need to be strong and let them take over what ever your dad said.
In stead of daycare has anyone offered respite care where you mum goes out and your dad stay in ?
Does the home have an activity assistant who could arrange something your dad like ie playing cards or what ever?
Does he still get the paper or what ever he gets at home as this can
confuse them ?
You also need to be honest with your mum about the amount of time you will spend with her if dad goes into a home as she may see it as getting quality time back with you and you may end up doing more worrying and last time with your oh/dd/ds etc
Thanks hun, it will have to be mum that tells him as it will break his heart and his spirit
we did try getting care staff in with ss, but mum kept cancelling them.
No one has offered respite care, his sw is a bit c**p tbh, sis and I have e-mailed our MP to see if he can help.
They do not have activities at the home at all, all the poor people just sit around in chairs in front of the tv, its soul destroying, if mum insists he goes into a home permanantly he will have to go somewhere different, otherwise we will loose him even more
I did take him a paper the other day, but he was not interested in reading it, he just keeps trying to escape.
We will sit down and talk to mum when she gets back, I can see it that she will want 'entertaining' all the time, also she will be so much worse off financially as she will loose all the benefits she gets for him.
I think being away will have done her good, but she may change her mind once she sees how unhappy dad is.
My sis has gone to see him tonight so will phone her in a while and see how he was, I will go over tomorrow.
Halight, sosorry to hear about your friend xx
Candy, sorry she is still being a madam
Nic, chin up my darling xx
Snoozer, I hope your dear dad gets some good news xx
Hugs to anyone I have missed xx0 -
:rotfl: thought you meant DH for a minute!:D

Now you're just slacking, naked superheroes, they are all the rage
Redruby - It's quite saddening how we treat our old folk. My mum has made me promise I am never to put her in a home. Who wants to spend their days watching carp daytime TV, they need stimulation otherwise they all go into decline dementia or not.I have a gift for enraging people, but if I ever bore you it'll be with a knife
