You can get detailed personal info from http://www.landreg.gov.uk/ if the property has beeen registered not only giving property owners names etc but who had a mortgage when the property was orignally registered ,for what ammount ,the mortgage provider any other later 2nd mortage charges etc and all for a couple of pounds.

Me too , I have had previous calls from 011111 but never picked up the phone, at least if they call again I now have the main man's number and can call him at my convenience .

interesting point,fair enough, as some businesses just go through a phone book too, but I thought where ever they get their info, they still had to TPS check before contacting, which in many cases they just are not doing!

I used to get these calls from such numbers a while back. I called BT and asked for the nuisance call dept. Gave them the details and not been bothered since. They will only block the number for a time but you can go back to them and get a block reinstated. I think if the number is bblocked for long enough they drop you from their lists - all I can tell you is they certainly haven't started up again and this was about 4 months ago.:eek:

hello I'm new here!
I've had 3 of these calls today, they will not take no for an answer.
I've had 2 in 9 minutes. I also have TPS activated.
Its unerving me, my husband died recently and I feel these people are 'trying it on'
I feel a bit more reassured reading these posts, I thought I was being targetted.

I too have been receivng these phone calls over the last two weeks, many times daily. They don't ask for me by name as we have just taken over this telephone number after moving house. However, they are Asian sounding and when challenged, say they are from Capital Finance. I am also registered with TPS.

I phoned BT and made a complaint and they said that the calls are from abroad and there is no way of blocking thems at this time. This means that they circumvent the TPS sytem as they are not bound by the UK laws.

BT said that the best thing you can do is to ignore them.

As others have said, telling them to remove you from their database does nothing. They just ignore you.

I heard a story where someone had signed up the telephone / mobile number of the company director or secretary to other premium rate telephone services as a form of revenge. I however would not condone such an activity.

I wonder why he is unavailable? Being swamped with phone calls, probably.

Anyway, guys, I am getting up to 5 a day from tel. no 011111 - I have now complained to TPS but will also be writing to Daksha Parmar. Have any of you tried his mobile no. and or written to him about the nuisance phone calls?

Yeah, that's a zip code. That's why.

But yes, very annoying to get marketing/nuisance calls. My landline used to be a takeaway number, or something, and I STILL get calls for "home deliveries", usually between the hours of 4pm and midnight! BT won't change my number without me paying.
