I have just had a call from this number, definately someone on other end but they said nothing and hungup after about a min.

Number came up on phone and on 1471 but not reconised when dialed

Can anyone advise on this weird one.

The info I've found on teh interweb suggests it's a telemarketing machine that's calling to see what time of day you answer... that info is passed onto whoever and they then know what time of day you're likely to answer your phone, and make their sales calls appropriately.

No idea if that's accurate info, but it sounds conceivable.

could be, being getting a lot of calls from with held numbers recently whilst I am out.

Caller ID spoofing is setting the Caller ID on the outgoing call you are making to a number of your own choosing,very easy due the increasing take-up of VoIP (Voice over Internet Protocol) service providers who allow you when using their service to set whatever caller ID you like.

Either that or it could be a fault on someones outgoing id,or even an intl call perhaps.

I just had one of these too today - remembered seeing it on here - didn't call back but was def someone on line..

they called back today and several times (been away)turns out some finacial services company......wanting to speak to homeowner - did not id themselfs at first had to ask who was calling and who wanted to know to find out................told them where to go in polite terms and not to call me again as becoming a pest with number of calls

Sorry if this isn`t the right place to post this.

I`ve had 3 calls this morning from the phone number 011111.
Each time they call, there is just silence, and they stay connected even after I hang up for about 5-10 minutes.

Anyone else had these calls? They are a real nuicance!
I`ve tried googleing it, but without much luck

It's not as phone number (as you probably realised) at all.

It's a false CLI use to get past 'anonymous call reject' and, from what you say about the calls, is probably a sales cold call with numbers dialled in sequence by a computer.

I get lots of calls from 011111. All junk. Anyone who shows up on my CLI display as 011111 just gets to chat to my answering machine.
