And what about the people who don't like the above? like I said you can't please everyone and you say you'd not go back there because of an event she held in the evening? seems a strange thing to say that you'd stop going to a tea room because of what they held in the evening.
If you don't like it then don't go. Just as I'd not go to a book club event but I'd not throw my toys out the pram and say I'd never go back.
This lady run's a business and can not please everyone, who's to say the following month she wouldn't hold a book club? different things at different times but yet some would expect her to just hold events that meet their needs? The day I had my Beautiful son is the day everything came together for me. It wouldn't bring in me, see again your just going for things that interest you and not thinking that we live in a world full of people with different interests. Although I have no interest in learning to speak spanish I'd still keep a look out to see what next event she had coming up.
The thing is many people would go to the event she wants to do, then maybe later she'll hold an event to suit others. The day I had my Beautiful son is the day everything came together for me. For someone so small he done so much and made me complete.0 -

Lets bring it BACK to topic shall we.
Ok, I've been to a few of these evenings. Our local restaurant does an evening with a buffet for £7 a ticket.
I'd hold the event when the tea room is normally closed
I'd also pop along to your local spiritulist club and see if they will let you advertise ?
At last some good advice :TThe day I had my Beautiful son is the day everything came together for me. For someone so small he done so much and made me complete.0 -

What business of yours is it, if someone else believes something that you do not? The ranting certainly doesn't suggest an intellect greater than those that do believe: it is almost as unpleasant to watch as a religious zealot chuntering on:(
Op, it sounds as if it could be fun for those that were interested in such evenings, and I think you have had a couple of good suggestions of how to go about running the evening.
Good luck with it:)
Totally agree :T
seems people on here are saying ''I'd not like it so I'd never go back'' GROW UP PEOPLE. If you go the cinema and it's not showing your film at the time you want or showing a horror in the next screen that you feel is wrong, are you never going to go back? would you walk out? lol no of course not.The day I had my Beautiful son is the day everything came together for me. Not really the same thing though is it? If you felt somebody or some organisation was exploiting people then you would boycott them/it. Some of the posters clearly have a strong negative reaction to the idea of a clairvoyants evening and it might be worth the OP from doing a quick poll of her customers in case they also have these feelings.
If it's old and creaky why not have a ghost story evening?
ps why is this in the relationships etc thread? Shouldn't it be in businesses or something?Rational judgement, now, at this very moment.

Wish I lived closer to you. I would love to attend one of your evenings.0

I would definately do it, people are more interested in things like this now, as for the people that say they wouldn't go back if this event was held.... I thought witch hunting days were a thing of the past :S
It's very narrow minded I feel, to say you wouldn't go somewhere just because you knew at some point this event had happened!
Make sure you check out your speakers yourself to see how good they are, tarot, ribbon, angel card readers etc don't always claim to speak to the dead, as I said, this is an ancient skill that takes a lot of time to learn.Sealed Pot Challenge member 1315

Well all I can really add is that when anything like this is on near us in the local theatre etc. it is a sell out. Don't think anyone has boycotted the theatres because of it.0

I went to my local shops earlier and saw a poster for a clairvoyant evening. Out of interest, I went to look where it was being held cos the view that 'if you hold one, even though I wouldn't come to it, and no-one is forcing me to, I would never go back to your place'' isn't one I'd encountered prior to this thread. Anyway, the one I saw was going to take place in a community centre. I should imagine it hosts a whole load of other events, from OAP lunches, to mums and tots groups, linedancing classes. Heaps, and heaps of people to offend, if they are so inclined, so I would guess that most people don't think that way.0
