  • Hi BB,
It is a Russian recipe called Chicken Gorky.
I am using up stir fried turkey from the freezer that the DGSs didn't eat. Also we have some sour cream left over from the fajitas we had on Saturday.
So the Turkey Gorky will be a reclaimed meal. Will add onion, tomato puree, vodka, Feta & chicken stock. It will be meat in sauce to serve with rice. Last time I made it properly following a recipe and it was delish. This time is an experiment:) Silver x

    :eek::D

was going to insert a 'gas' smilie from the hystersisters:D but cant get them to work for some reason. I used to just copy and paste them but it doesn't work now.

Redruby - hope DHs back is soon better x

didn't get on here yesterday - bit too much to do after work.

Off to work at ten today till 6pm. Very damp here so washing will be hung indoors.
Dinner is burgers(quorn one for me) and tagliatelle with philly mixed in and some mushrooms - and a big dollop of HP sauce with mine too:)

I want to clean the fridge out before work too.

Its my Mum's last week here before she retires to the seaside in Devon. I'm happy for her but its a big step to take and she'll be missed by a lot of people as she does so much for so many causes in the town. She's got a week of meals out with various people, she'd rather leave without any fuss and didn't want a party.
I'm going with her for a couple of days to help out - I think I'll be very sad to drive home without her.:(

anyway - must get on and have some breakfast before I go.

Have a great day all x

Good Morning chums ,and happy birthday to Julie67 Well yesterday was a complete no-no as ar as I was concerned.I woke up yesterday feeling absolutely yuck.My right arm had trebled in size and was pillar box red.The dreaded cellulitis had struck overnight.Unfortunately because I have so few lymph nodes after my mastectomy I now and again for no apparent reason have a nasty flare-up in my right arm.I always have a stock of amoycillin 500 indoors which I have to start on straight away, which I did but it makes you feel so ill.I spent most of yesterday in bed feeling really grotty.I got up around 6.00.p.m. and thought I'd better eat something and managed half a slice of toast and a little water.went back to be and have only just got up now.I feel slightly better but will be going round to my Drs this morning as he has to record my flare ups .
Stlill haven't had anything to eat as I just have no appetite at all.Eldest DD said she will pop down this morning as she is on half term from school. I'm so cross because I had so many things planned to do yesterday.Still hopefully the antibios will kick in and bring down the swelling and redness. I don't think I'll get much done today thats for sure.
I must remember to get some wrapping papaer for DGS present as its his birthday this week.Saturday nights family do went well and we all had a great time.I still can't think what to get my eldest DGD for her 18th next month. Will be at another party then as well. Right I'm off to have a shower and pop around to the drs.No shopping to get at least as I have stacks of stuff in the fridge as it is .
Take care all and have a good day

P.S. does anyone here live near Leominster I am off there for my spring holiday in April I wondered what sort of place it was and where the bargains might be found
  • :bdaycake:Happy birthday Julie67, hope you have a fab day.
JackieO so sorry about your day yesterday. Hope the swelling goes down quickly.
As you can see, I am determined to have a slow start seeing as it is half term:)
    Hugs, Silver x

    Morning all

Hello also to my fellow lefties

Snowing here again but I don't think it will settle as the ground is to wet.

OH is taking the kids to school then he wants to go out to spend the money he got for his birthday a few weeks ago. Not sure where but he has said he will treat me to lunch :j

Need to make twinks today and pancakes but other than that not much OS going on here.

We did watch the people supermarket last night, very interesting but was shocked with all the wasted food from the supermarkets.

    Have a good day all.

silvermaid turkey gorky sounds tasty :D
hope the first day of term treats all those with kiddies well!

cough that became a head cold is now joined by swollen tonsils- my tonsils are the bane of my life! Having some hm frozen pancakes for breakfast and chai tea instead of coffee (there's no chance to leave my first lecture to wee if i have coffee lol!) then off to lectures. Later on I need to take a few things to the post office, do a SC full of rice pudding, sort washing and lots and lots of maths...

    Morning all!

Many thanks for the congrats on Sat! I'm very excited, and being constantly harrassed by the maternity police, otherwise known as my daughters, who have read every piece of maternity info they can get their hands on and are now full of do's and don'ts bless em! Thankfully ds is of a more practical nature and has been very thoughtful and been doing assorted jobs for me, mostly ones that involve lifting or bending, and all without being asked!

OS stuff yesterday involved a big roast dinner, and the kids did lots of housework, I was at work all day!

OS stuff today will involve throwing a pile into the wash in a mo, turning bm on, and cooking a nice brekkie! Was hoping for a lie in, but that was scuppered by dd2 coming in and borrrowing my straighteners rather early, she's off shopping with her friend for the day, and thought it would be nice to have a chat with the entire household first!

Meeting a friend and her 4 kids at a local play place, dd1 is a bit big for it really, but she enjoys playing with my friend's 2yr old, tis a good excuse to get in the ball pool I think lol! dd3 is v excited as my friends dd2 is her bestie!

Hope everyone has a lovely day, off to make a cuppa then will read back and catch up, meanwhile hugs or congrats to anyone as necessary xxx
