Hi, this is the Daily Thread for Monday 21st Feb. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.
When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.
Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.
Morning all
Nothing like a nice lie in on the first day of the holidays & this is nothing like.
I need to make hubby's packup & then drop him off at the station. I need to get petrol on the way home & shall drop into Tesco to buy a few bits that we are running low on.
I have money to pay into the bank & a huge list of other jobs that need doing this week.
Have a good day everyone.
Hugs Hester

Good morning Hester and all to follow.
I too have a long list of things I need to get done this week.
It was so dark and cold yesterday, I was half expecting it to snow.
Today will be (chicken) turkey Gorky with lo turkey from the freezer.
We have no plans for today. Not expecting any visitors, so it will just be me and DH and he will be working so I have no excuse but to get things crossed off aforesaid list.
Hope you are feeling better HH.
Happy Monday everyone, hugs for those that need or want, Silver xOutside of a dog, a book is man's best friend. Inside of a dog it's too dark to read.

Morning everyone.
It's been a busy weekend, DS is with his Grandma for the half term and the house is very quite without him. I look forward to the Easter break where I get to spend the 2 week break with him.
Anyway, I am looking forward to a week of slow evenings and maybe quite a bit of cooking and baking to fill the time.
Hope everyone has a great day x

Ugh - morning already? DS1 has been up since 5.30 and I've just given in and let him put return of the jedi on! The old ones are definately the best. Thing is he believes he is a jedi knight. Don't even go there!
Today I'll be flying with the flyladies and trying to survive half term. Have woken up with a migraine, so would like to spend the day in bed - but that is as likely as a heatwave in February! Was planning on the gym, but that won't be happening now. Have found somethings to put on ebay, and have sold another book - all good news. Have menu planned for the week. Will get the children sorting out some of the toys they no longer play with - school jumble sale in March.
OH needs to continue putting up his shelves and he has a shed which is being delivered today. We're using it for a woodstore to dry the wood out for the fire. As I won't make the gym, I will take the dogs out for a walk. Need to get seeds planted up too. Thats the windowcills all used up then!Me, OH, grown DS, (other DS left home) and Mum (coming up 80!). Considering foster parenting. Hints and tips on saving £ always well received. Xx
March 1st week £80 includes a new dog bed though £63 was food etc for the week.0 -

Morning all
Dry but chilly this morning. DH up and off to work at stupid early o'clock.
Had a good weekend, was rather wet and muddy, Saturday was horrible, rained all day so have lots of muddy kit, managed to most of it washed yesterday when we got back as we were not late. DS1 had a lovely time at this karting lesson, this was the first of 6, my parents bought it for him for Xmas. Had lovely belated burns supper Saturday evening, good food, good wine and company, then had a really good nights sleep, but didn't want to get up yesterday morning I have to admit.
Got up this morning at 5.30am and went for jog, well half an effort really, was incredibly hard work this morning, will go again Weds morning see how I go or I may now start to do my own thing, go out for 15 minutes and run 1 min and walk 1 min then make the run time a bit longer and the walk time, but may do a max. of 15-20 mins but go everyday - will have to wait and see. Weight stayed same on Friday and know I will have gained at the moment after the weekend's excesses! Will just be really good this week and weigh again on Friday and see whats happening.
Boys going off to my parents in a bit, I will collect them on Weds lunchtime once I've finished work.
Have already put a line of washing out, hoping it gets a bit dry, going to try to stop using TD, dreading the bill!
Not much else to say really, keep safe and well everyone, hugs to those that need them.

DD is off at a sleepover and will be home at some point today, dinner tonight will be a quick pizza and salad, I have a lot to do today so will shove it in the oven when I get home.
Need to ring my mum in Devon later on and speak to her about dad, sis and I think alive in carer might be the answer, but will see what mum thinks, we need to have something in place soonish, as dad is due to come home soon, I will also ring round some agencies to start getting prices etc.

Am off out taking my neice to get her mum a birthday card. DD is coming too and we will have a peep in the prom dress shop as she has her prom in June. Other than that the day will be spent doing office work and ironing.
Had a lovely day yesterday, food was nice and it was good catching up with all the family, sad at the same time as my uncle wasn't there, his funeral is tomorrow.
