Theoretically, with permission from your bank, you can go to an approved printer and buy personalised cheques. They have to be APACS (UK Payments Council?) approved and follow a lot of rules about size, where text can be put, and where pictures/logos can go.
Source: Covered for two weeks holiday in NatWest 'Special Cheques' in 1999 where I had to order from the printers and send out the books from stock in the basement of the building. Had to hand-write the envelopes too!43580 -

Not sure how it would compare if you looked at percentage of bad debt against total asset size.
I suspect Mainwaring type underwriting would still come out as inferior to automated credit scoring.
That said, while I believe that automated credit scoring is fine, if some idiot decides to allow too many low scores to be accepted, you have a problem!0
