Agree totally with izools, in Glasgow the banks used in to be grand ornate building with huge ceiling and I must admit they could be quite intimidating. It has all changed now, they sold them all off to property developers who turned them into bars and the Crown Post Office into flats.
Those card pictures bring back memories too, I still remember my first TSB Bankcard, it was black with a rainbow on it and the good old Trustcard. They dont make them like they used to.
My mother has a pile of old cards in a shoebox...
She'd held a TSB Trustcard from 1984 right up until a couple of years ago when Lloyds cut her limit from £3,800 to £400 despite over 20 years of flawless and responsible account counduct.
Must see if she'll let me take some piccies. She has Barclaycards through the ages, too.Cashback Earned ¦ Nectar Points £68 ¦ Natoinwide Select £62 ¦ Aqua Reward £100 ¦ Amex Platinum £48

The Abbey National Current Account marketing literature was very well presented back then. I think they were trying to really pushinto that market.
I really loved the design of my Multifunction Card - the one in the book in my photo. Also the design of the cheques too. The merging of green and blue with the interesting "stained glass" fractal in the middle.
I also had the Abbey National Credit Card when it first came out. It was ACTUALLY operated by Abbey National not by MBNA. The design was also good:
I left Abbey National some time ago when it became a bit too trendy for me.
I much prefer cards with the hologram on the front and the VISA symbol on the front. Why do cards not have "Delta" on them now?
What are the Santander cards and cheques like now??? Anyone care to post some pics up?0 -
Okay, here's one (I loved this design!):43580

And one that I kept because the company was so short lived:43580
