Eh? Is Santander taking over NatWest? I didn't know that?
Very soon Santander will be the only bloooody bank on the High Street0 -
The English NatWest cheque designs are boring and plain - at least mine is :rotfl: My A&L cheques are orange - very different!! I had a left-handed cheque book with my first NatWest account (after I turned 16) but now when I ask for one Santander look at me like I've just asked for space dust :rotfl:*The RK and FF fan club* #Family*Don’t Be Bitter- Glitter!* #LotsOfLove ‘Darling you’re my blood, you have my heartbeat’ Dad 20.02.200

I think the prize for the most boring cheque design should go to Metro Bank!0

Which bank gave away "pot money bank pigs"??
I seem to recall getting a pig in a nappy money box for opening a savings account maybe early 1990's??0 -

There's a reason to close an account then. When Santander takes over - close it down!
They shouls give you £100 like the give every new customer. Strictly speaking you will be a new Santander customer.
I wouldn't go anywhere near them. I left Abbey because they went down hill - I think Santander has gon below the hill.
You have a lot of cheques. Wish I hadnt closed my Cumberland BS account0 -

This was not isolated though, on the whole they were very unapproachable unless you used to play golf with them.
Some things have changed for the better without a doubt.
Although Lloyds tactic of calling all their sellers "Bank Manager" is taking the mick.
If I look around at my colleagues who are Branch Managers now they are a much more friendly, approachable bunch of people which can only be a good thing.
But at least they could make an on the spot decision, unlike the jumped up, fresh out of University, sales teams that we get now.0 -
I had a barclays connect - my first card.
And a Natwest cheque book with wild animals in it, sadly don't have it now. It was also Natwest who did the piggy banks, worth a bit for the whole set apparently!Getting fit for 2013 - Starting weight 10.1.13 88.1kg
