  • I think you both hit the nail on the head here. Single people always think Married life is easier/happier and Married people always think Single people are surely having or should be having a whale of a time!

Too true! I have to say having experienced both I like my life now where I am classed as single but have a BF whom I don't live with. He works away through the week and I live in my own place. He comes home about Thursday and I pack a bag and go and stay in his - its like going away each week! I batch cook for us and whilst he's away I eat everything I've cooked for us. It keeps things fresh to say the least :)

Maybe its not such a good idea to share info and be so open. I've had my misgivings all along. It leaves you vulnerable, without a shadow of a doubt.

Am sorry if you do feel this way. I don't know who you are, where you are or what you do. However I've formed an impression from your posts that you are resourceful and a fighter - qualities which I admire very much. I don't think you've given away too much - and in anycase what's wrong with sharing some difficult truths with your fellow humans? It might not be of any help or use to you in practical terms but you have people rooting for you here.

I'm ok curlygirl1971. I guess you are right about me, even though i would'nt admit it to myself.

Hey Ani, thanks for asking... I am really good today, busy cooking! I love cooking and it is gorgeous outside so doing loads of washing too :)

Guess what guys and girls...?? I went into Aldi and bought loads of stuff for £3.00!!! What a bargain! It was brilliant in there... so much cheaper, I am so glad I took your advice :) I am newly converted (or is that because there wasn't a queue at the checkout :) :j

Curly girl, you are a little gem, I will get back to your post soon x

I'm a fairly recent convert too. I tried it a few years ago but I think they do more my kind of stuff now although its not always practical to buy veg for one there. So after Aldi I might call in at Tescos and get a couple of other things. I do get stressed at Aldi checkout :rotfl: but you know, I think there are more ignorant self focused people in tescos

Just read through the recent posts and thanks again to everyone!! You are all so very helpful! I am learning so much and I hope others are too :)

I cooked enough food today for lunches at work and dinner tonight so all good and still very impressed with my bargains from Aldi... I also noticed fellow shoppers smelt good too.. LOL the last time I was in there the disgusting smell of BO had me running for the hills :D

you are obv an active person lucy, have you thought about dancing? like what curly girl said, i wanted a new socialable hobby so started salsa. it only costs me £5 per week for a lesson and eveyone is very friendy (admitibly i only really know the guys as we all rotate partners!) but they do social events most weekends which are either free or about £5. once you feel comfortable you could go and would allow you to do something different, get out the house and if you drive and have soft drinks could be cheap. i would not normally go to a bar and not drink but think i will be quite happy to do it if it was a 'salsa' night. i do the lessons with two friends but one is not around at the weekends and the other does not want to go to the socials. i have been doing it for about 2 months and think i would comfortable enough to go alone now

Hey Clippy Girl, thanks for this!

I love being active you are right so I am going to have a lil look into salsa dancing in my area... I would be going alone though and it worries me that I might end up with someone nasty to dance with :D
