Too true! I have to say having experienced both I like my life now where I am classed as single but have a BF whom I don't live with. He works away through the week and I live in my own place. He comes home about Thursday and I pack a bag and go and stay in his - its like going away each week! I batch cook for us and whilst he's away I eat everything I've cooked for us. It keeps things fresh to say the least :)

Hey SB, I used to have boyfriend like that... it did feel like a holiday every weekend, packing a bag and off to see him but then I got tired of it...

I guess I just want a more settled life... I have burnt the candle at both ends in my life time... I don't regret a single moment, I have definitely LIVED but now I just want a more conventional way of life, perhaps it just won't happen, perhaps I just gotta get used to I can't have what I want :)

Love it! Hon I hope to never settle down (see my sig). Lots more fun to be had I feel but if you want that then go for it but dont assume that it will make you happy if you're not already IYSWIM!

Had this chat with a mate the other night. I never want the whole husband baby bit but one of my friends friends does and hasn't got it. She has said to her to consider what she will do with her life if it never happens ie will she consider it a life half lived or just grab it with both hands and enjoy what she can do, not worry about what she can't.

Not saying you wont get it, just an interesting thought. This all fascinates me Lucy as I have never wanted it and so dont fit in with a lot of women!

OK Souk how old are you? I guess you must be the female version of George Clooney :) I am not desperate for the conventional way of life i just think it would be NICE and EASY and COMFORTABLE and less stressful but then again what do married people feel like?

Married people, please tell me what you feel like? Does being married make it easier and nicer financially and otherwise ???

For some reason I thought you were younger.... a compliment of course. :D

    Hope everyone is ok tonight.

Had a great day cooking roast, having a friend over, walking on the local beach and watching movies.

32 love and please dont tell me that I'll want all that malarkey when I get older. Nice/easy/comforable...zzzzzz. Sorry I nodded off there!!!

Less stressful in what way? Yes it would be lovely if someone gave me half the rent every month but my freedom and fun are priceless. Not knocking it, if it suits someone then fine but it's not for everyone and I hate the way it's always assumed that it is!

  • At the height of my debts i had 400 a month left after all the bills were paid - this was used for food, clothes, travel, going out etc. More then some on this thread but my take home pay at the time was 2500 which shoukd go some way to showing the mess i was getting in to. It was another 2 years from that point till my LB moment!
