I dont know what to do

I phoned newnet and their BB is £12.95 with a 3GB limit and a connection charge of £35. Re-connection upto 7 days. £2.77 for extra download usage.
I'm not sure if its a good deal for me as we use around 6GB a month. I tried to barter with them, but they wouldnt budge ;)

Biscuit wont answer their phones and dont reply to email. They havent even replied to the request for re-connection on tinternet....and I sent that 3 times

I want to find out what we get in compo before I move on....but how do you do that ?
In reply to Victor, I only ever used v21 for BB. very very rarely could I not get on the net. speed was good, phones answered and bills collected with no problems....I couldn't fault them for anything...perhaps I'm in the minority on this one !

Hi Tom, I have to agree with you on all points here. I was delighted with v21 and without doubt would have stayed with them through all of this had they just spoken to me, returned a call or an email - something! What they have done is just not enough and doesn't encourage me to believe that their service is worth the risk of being tied into their contract - currently it costs a lot to cancel whether you have a v21 or Biscit contract. I wanted to talk to them about this, see if we could do a deal to keep my business, but as you know you can't talk to anyone

I can't afford the NewNet connection fees just now so unless v21 finally make contact with a good deal I am with BT from Tuesday. Yes, it is more expensive in the long run but it isn't just BB so I am hoping I can make the costs even out in the end and they are a known quantity. Just hope I've made the right decision.

I'm angry with NetServices but I would have stuck with v21 come hell or high water if only they would talk to me the fact they won't doesn't bode well for a future business relationship I don't think.

OK, Biscit have obtained an injunction against Netservices.

Don't assume Biscit has won yet, even if their press release sounds jubilant.

Don’t assume I assumed. I reported.

However, on the topic of assuming:
I'm not a lawyer, but I would say this is only round one in the battle between these two companies.

Do you have any evidence for that at all? Is it possible the complete lack of comment from netservices (so far as I know) might mean they just want to forget about it and move on?

It`s a pity the high court judge didn`t know that Biscit has been stealing from their customer`s bank and credit card accounts by taking extra payments and ignoring phone calls, emails and returning registered letters.

I have nothing but sympathy for those who have and are suffering financial loss from this affair. However, although I’m also not a lawyer I know enough law to know that the judge probably knows that an act does not, as a matter of law, amount to stealing just because some people say it is. Those who have read this thread will know that this point has been explained more than once. I very much hope that any money wrongly taken from people will be returned, the sooner the better. If Biscit are wilfully ‘stealing’ money from people I merely observe that they seem to be going about it in rather a strange way with some people not having money taken from them even when it is due.

Very intresting link here, "From 14 February next year ISPs will be legally obliged to supply the codes to anyone who wishes to change provider. A MAC is a necessity when switching a broadband service from one company to another."

• I signed up to dial-up with Fast4 on 28 September of this year. From 9 October to 14 November I couldn't access the internet. Numerous phone calls, emails and letters written were not responded to at all. So on 15 November I personally went to Biscit's offices in Edgeware, North London.
I spoke to David Miller the Accounts Manager, informing him of Biscit's appalling service. I managed to receive written confirmation of the end of my contract with V21/Biscit and a promise to no longer take further money from my debit card; I also demanded a cash refund -albeit only £10.00 for 2 months subscription - plus what appeared to be genuine assurance that he would pass on my request for recompense for the expensive calls I'd made plus payment for the journey to Edgeware.
Unfortunately David Miller, after initially replying to my emails, has now blanked me.
If people are willing to actually go to Biscit's premises and confront them then they maybe surprised to actually resolve some issues. My presence to them was clearly an irritation to Biscit, but it was my presence that got something done. That aside people could try emailing David Miller dmiller@biscit.net- where there may be a possibilty that he will actually reply.
Companies like these get away with murder, but it's up to us consumers to confront these people.

Is anyone staying with V21/Biscit? Say 'Aye' if you are

We have gone with NewNet, one months notice, mac code provided, and no charges, but so far very satisfied and will not need to move on, I cannot imagine anybody wanting to stay with Biscit!!!! Regards oap (we were on bb)
• Thanks for replying oap, I was just wondering how many old V21 customers who were supplied with BB have decided to stay with Biscit and had their BB re-connected already, or are they still waiting?

On the 11 Dec, Biscit said they were starting to re-connect V21 customers but were waiting for netservices to return V21 authentication codes.

The reason I am so interested is that I am writing a full report about this debacle for the Office of Trading Standards and Ofcom, so any old V21 customers who were supplied with BB and have decided to stay with Biscit despite the recent hassles, please get in touch!

Thanks everyone!
• I signed up with newnet.....I've not done anythig about v21 yet
As far as they're concerned my account is on hold and no payments have been taken since november. I've had an email and a letter asking for bank details in order to be re-connected. Still not replied to any of my emails.

I was told by newnet that my line was clear and I didnt need a mac code to proceed, however, they have charged me a connection fee
Dont understand why those who have gone with newnet got connected so soon, I'm having to wait 7 days minimum.

• I had to wait 7 days for NewNet but as I signed up the moment BT has "ceased" the V21 line that's why I am back on BB now. Others have had it quicker though .

I actually received a letter back (!) to my recorded letter of complaint to V21 Biscit saying they are cancelling my subscription and investigating the overpayments. I'm going to wait till January, then if they haven't given me my money back, go to the Small Claims Court online.
• Am still waiting for my BB connection to be restored as I replied to free 24-7 letter sent 5th dec saying they would reconnect.Unable to contact them as emails and phone numbers don`t work! Any ideas please?Good job I kept onetel for dialup!
