Soo... Is anyone staying with V21/Biscit?

If so, has anyone heard from them?

When do we get BB again? Does anyone know??

Staying with v21/biscit dialup for now, suits my needs for now.

I've not heard anything since begining Nov when my connection was re-established along with email.

This was when my stolen payments were promised to be repaid!

Still trying to contact them by various means ,my newly issued password has stopped working on the members area, which has a contact box for non-members but also states members using this facility will have their emails deleted!

Will have to use other email address to contact them ,along with the DField contact( from other forums).
    Move along, nothing to see.
  • julianj1 and Infiltrator, it probably won't help much but I noticed from the v21 Terms and Conditions kindly provided by GuessWho that the only way v21 will accept a cancellation of the account is through the Customer Portal - which is why it probably won't help much

I did wonder if you can get through on this whether that might make their weird accounting system actually work for you.

I think you'll find that the contract was cancelled when they failed to deliver a service which I'd paid for and they'd agreed to provide. I've now moved to Newnet and asked my bank to issue me a new debit card. I didn't use the v21 email so if they need to get in touch they'll have to bother their !!!! to post me a letter.

Don't get me wrong, I had good service from V21 and am prepared to pay whatever I owe them (nowt as far as I'm aware) but I don't trust their invoicing system. But I sure as hell ain't wasting my time and effort asking them to cancel my account when they actually broke the terms of the contract in the first place. If Biscit know what's good for them they'll just let the ex V21 members who want to leave drift away quietly without any further fuss.

I am sick to the teeth of broken Biscits, i have 7 months left on my contract, and i cant wait to be rid of them, but having read all the posts on this forum I just might get my debit card cancelled and send a letter off to those useless morons to get my account cancelled. Im so ticked off, they have taken more money then they should have on several different occasions. I know when happens because I would recieve an email from them with the subject “Receipt for your Payment” and in the letter it would say ........ “Internet Access : GBP 0.00 Including VAT at 17.5%” now when I go to check my balance online i can see that they have taken £16.99 from my account.

It's impossible to get in contact with them, email are never answered, message left on the answering phone are never returned. Im sick of trying the sale line or any other number nobody picks up, you just a female voice saying “your call is important to us” like fu*k it is. Then after ten minutes you get an alternative message, a man this time saying ” im sorry nobody is in the office to answer you call, please leave a message after the tone”.

I was very happy when V21 was running the show , for years I never had a problem with them. These cowboys though are a joke, the company should be shut down. Bloody thieves!!

One last point, Ive just used the internet archive, http://www.archive.org/index.php to go back in time and found another freephone v21 number doubt it will be any good but who knows, will give it a ring later on today see if any one answers. 0800 0892121

Quick question, with no Mac Code, does that mean the line has to be manually disconnected from v21 by some BT person. If it took on another broadband service from, say, tiscali, would tiscali sort all that out? I know its a bit of a noob question, but Ive never delt with mac code as v21 was my first broadband provider.

Do you still have Broadband just now or not?
Assuming you don't, use the below site to check whether your line is still tagged. If not you're free to set up with someone else. I'd suggest cancelling the debit card asap as well.

Yes, I agree Infiltrator, my meaning was that WE all know that the contract was broken by v21 Biscit by them failing to deliver the service they contracted to but the 'computer' might not know if you see what I mean ;)

I too agree that like you, IanE and many others I have had years of almost faultless service from v21 and on the very rare occasion I had a query (three times in 5 years!) was able to contact them and get it resolved immediately. Never had a problem with payments at all. The recent appalling public relations and unwillingness to allow personal contact whilst filling their coffers by providing numerous 0870 numbers for us to ring around in circles without success have decided me that I do not want a relationship with Biscit.

I miss BB a lot but for now am happily chugging along on dialup with GEOisp plus 1899 and enjoying the savings I'm making thanks to Random in another thread :rotfl:

Just to update you ive tried calling the freephone number mentioned in my previous post but it seems to be permanently engaged. Also Im gonna take your advice Infiltrator and cancel my debit card today.

One last thing, im going to see the police today, this is theft, plain and simple. Maybe the fraud squad can get involved.

Hi guys, I just checked my BT line, and the message follows:

"Your exchange is ADSL enabled, and our initial test on your line indicates that your line should be able to have an ADSL broadband service that provides a line rate up to 2Mbps."

What does this mean exactly? Is my line clear??

No being stupid is not a crime but taking money without your consent is.
