V21/Biscit Customers Locked out of Internet!!

Bishopsgate, I think I am unlucky due to a couple of factors. Firstly the fact that I live in Northern Ireland (..ie. our lines are all BT, plus, my line rental is via UTVInternet). Also, silly me, forgot that even though V21 crashed out of providing us with a service, still forgot to send a "I want to cancel my contract" letter to them to make sure that Biscit didn't snap me up as one of their customers.
Anyway, for the rest of you poor unfortunates out there in the same boat - ie. with an "order" for Biscit broadband on your line, I wrote Biscit a nasty letter saying that I didn't want their smelly broadband and they had no right to sign me up when I hadn't requested them to do so.
I faxed the letter, emailed it and sent it by post, and lo and behold about 20 minutes after nasty letter was faxed, they phoned me back on my mobile asking what they could do to help me!!!
Just goes to show if you scream and shout and make a fuss they have to do something.
I'm still awaiting confirmation though that I am free to move to another provider.

Problems with your internet service -
My new ISP says there is a Tag/Marker/ Incompatiable product /ISP already on my lineIn the first instance we advise you to re-contact your ISP and ask them to confirm that a cease order has been placed on your line with BT Wholesale and on what date your line will be cleared.
If you have already done this and it is 20 days since your ISP advised you that a cease order has been placed and your recent attempt to order broadband was rejected, you can now check directly with BT Wholesale when the Tag will be removed.
Currently BT Wholesale is a very busy department and you may experience some waiting time in getting through to them.

From V21/Biscit CS portal on 11 Dec:V21 announces that the first wave of customers whose broadband service was disrupted on 15th November by loss-making NetServices plc due to a commercial dispute with the supplier have been reprovisioned and are now online on the networks of its parent company, Biscit. V21's fast track reconnection process continues over the coming days for those customers who have reconfirmed their broadband requirements to https://www.v21.co.uk/provisioning.
So has any member here who has decided to stay with V21/Biscit been re-provisioned with BB yet?0 -
Well its payment collection day from v21 today, im still online for how much longer now who knows, anyway, ive been having trouble sending emails using my own smtp domain...getting to the point, I checked my ip address, because that was what thunderbird was complaining about and is said my bb was coming from Eurisp! What does this mean?

I dont know what to do
I phoned newnet and their BB is £12.95 with a 3GB limit and a connection charge of £35. Re-connection upto 7 days. £2.77 for extra download usage.
I'm not sure if its a good deal for me as we use around 6GB a month. I tried to barter with them, but they wouldnt budge
Biscuit wont answer their phones and dont reply to email. They havent even replied to the request for re-connection on tinternet....and I sent that 3 times
I want to find out what we get in compo before I move on....but how do you do that ?
In reply to Victor, I only ever used v21 for BB. very very rarely could I not get on the net. speed was good, phones answered and bills collected with no problems....I couldn't fault them for anything...perhaps I'm in the minority on this one !

It`s a pity the high court judge didn`t know that Biscit has been stealing from their customer`s bank and credit card accounts by taking extra payments and ignoring phone calls, emails and returning registered letters.0 -

I'm not a lawyer, but I would say this is only round one in the battle between these two companies. Don't assume Biscit has won yet, even if their press release sounds jubilant.0
