Mate, many thanks for the assistance, by the way, where is this quote taken from?
Many thanks Chris0 -
I've just checked my Nationwide Account on the Internet to make sure my £31.35 Child Benefit went in ok.
Yesterday I was definately 94p in credit because I took my last few quid out.
Somehow, yesterday on the 24th (after it shows me taking money out and my 94p left), there in an Interest debit of £30, giving me a (-) £29.06. Followed by a credit of my Child Benefit this morning of £31.35, giving me a credit of £2.29.
I know the only potential direct debit / standing order on the account is Ebay, and I thought I'd changed the way I pay that bill. Checking with Ebay, it looks like my next bill is £17.00.
If it is EBay then they have refused to pay and charged me £30 to return it.
I thought the days of £30 charging had finished.
Can I get this money back as I need this money.
Thanks0 -

Hi All
I managed to get £451 back from Nationwide under financial hardship. However total amount claimed is 1.8k. I've called them to ask why they have not considered paying the whole amount, and they are looking in to my 'complaint'. Apparantly they don't ever pay more than a years' amount back. Is this true? And is there anymore I should be doing?
Thanks
p.s. Also have an outstanding claim with smile, trying to claim under financial hardship but they are four weeks behind in their post - and haven't opened/found our documents yet. What does this mean?0 -
Can anybody advise me on this.
Do I call them ?

I had an accident last year and injured my back. Whilst i was in hospital 3/4 direct debits was taken but failed, so i incurred charges. when i got back on my feet i was about £250 overdrawn with charges. I sent a letter in and asked could they consider my situation and they offered to squash £60 of charges. Its now been over a year now and total charges stand at £630.
I have sent letter asking them to review my case under the severe hardship ruling, but again they have said that they will not refund any charges.
Today i got a letter from a debt collection agency, and i dont know what to do. Nationwide have said that my appeal is on hold until the courts have made a decision.
Can anybody help me, and advise what i can do.
Thank0 -
I was hoping you could offer me some advice.
Ive had two bank charges on my nationwide account, of £30 each, Ive had the account for about a year, and I have never went overdrawn. I called up the telebanking centre and she kept me on the phone for aaaages, and I advised her it was totally my own fault, but I have been having some personal probs and just recently became a single mum, she said she would need to put this to the refferal of charges dept and they would write to me within 5-10 working days to let me know the decision
I think its a bit ridiculous tbh, I have to wait ten days, Ive always kept my account in order and this is the first time Ive made a mistake.
I work for a high street bank and we can decide on the spot about charge reversals.
Does this sound right to youHas anyone ever been in this situation
Im thinking they will prob write back and say no, because they havent got me face to face or on the phone or anything :rolleyes:Little Miss Sparkles :A
