Can someone please advise me what to do next... I have contacted Nationwide -they have sent my statements - I have written to request my money back - they wrote back and said no... The 2nd letter was sent to them on 18 July saying I will go to court and gave them 14 days to respond - Since then the hold has come into effect and I have not heard anything back whatsover from Nationwide... Of course it is now almost 28 days since I wrote the 2nd letter - Should I continue to complain to the Financial Ombusdsman Service even though they are not looking at any cases.. Desperate to know what to do next - can someone please respond to me?? Thanks.0

Hi Milly
I'm afraid it is unlikely that you'll get any further now until the test case is over, however, the next step is to go to court (via MoneyClaimOnline) but this will cost you and you're likely to just have it 'stayed' until after the test case.
Sorry not to be able to give you more hope.0 -
I have recieved a reply from the Nationwide rejecting my claim for a refund of my bank charges, because of the recent decision to suspend re-claiming I don't know what to do next.. Any advice would be appreciated!0

Hi emmyjay8! My case has been transefered to my local court, but my local court (Swansea) is case managing all bank charge cases and they are now all being dealt with by a judge in Cardiff, who has decided to hold all cases until the test case is heard, so we're all going to have to sit tight. According to Nationwide, they are asking for all their cases to be stayed.
If I were you I would call your local court to find out what is happening - my court was very helpful (and apologetic for it being stayed!!). And also DON'T WORRY!! Remember that there are thousands of us going through the same ordeal, and victory has been in the majority. There is a helpful thread on the emergency guide page, and on there are some stories from people who have gone to court - it doesn't seem as scary as we might think.
I am preparing a court bundle just in case, but have no idea what to put in it if anyone can give me any advice!!!!!!!!!!!0 -

Hi palerie,
Many thanks for your help - should I act on the next step now and claim I know it will be stayed but should I still go ahead now? or wait until after the test case is over?
Thanks again for your help.0 -
Need a bit of advice i was suppose to be going to court on the 17th september 07 to get my bank charges bck just ad a letter saying that the court date has been cancelled as alll cases have been stayed (all proceedings halted until the test case is determined) Whats does this mean and why have they cancelled the court date on the 17th Sep ? Also says upon proceedings having been issued ih the High Court to determine the legality or otherwise off bank charges ? Thanks for any infoWon 2010: Butlins 5 day Break and £250, 1 yr Virgin Active membership, Meal for 10 at Best Parties Ever, skyline 2011 dvd.

My question is that you have talked about if you are just started asking for your bank statements, etc but, you haven't given advise on people that have put thier cases to court and that the banks haven't acknowledged the claim within the time limit. Can you then enter a judgement and then go for a warrant?Hi, Can anyone help me I am quite scared. I have been trying to claim my bank charges from Nationwide all £3306.60. On Friday 13th!! I issued a MCOL for the charges plus interest and court costs totalling 4034.54. What do I do now??? There doesn't seem any guide lines after this point and it scarys me slightly. PLEASE HELP0
