Same boat as you!
I'm still waiting for my court date - mycol stage ended more than a month ago! the 28 days was up on the 8th June.
I rang the court and they said I should get a date end of last week or early this week - fingers crossed it's not going to be in November!
Where are you based - I'm in London - I'm not sure if that will make it quicker or not.
I've tried two different numbers for Nationwide and I've got no answer on both and can't afford to run up a huge mobile bill trying constantly!
I have sent a letter last week saying that if it goes to court a self litigation fee will be added to the amount of £230.00 - I'm hoping that this will move them on but I doubt it!
I can't believe you have to wait so long.. when did you start your claim?
Hi Wiggynut
I submitted my N1 Claim Form on 5th March (decided against MCOL), but I started the whole process (DPA request, letters etc) back in January.
I'm in London too, I'm going through Barnet County Court. My friend is going through Bow County Court against HSBC and he got a date within 2 months, so I think it's just pot luck!
I too have written to Nationwide encouraging them to settle and saying I will add a Litigant in Person fee should it reach court. I don't think they are really bothered!
Who is dealing with your claim? Is it Nationwide's 'in-house' solictors or Eversheds? Not sure if it makes much difference but it seems people dealt with by Eversheds are getting a quicker result.
We'll just have to be patient I guess, it'll all come to a head in the end and we'll end up with the cash in our pockets!
Regards

Hi,
I am in need of some advice because nobody can give me a straight answer. I filed with MCOL and was told by Eversheds (NW solicitors) on Friday that they would not be defending and their client will be refunding. Then today I got a call saying "see you in court"
Has anyone had the same thing with NW at all0 -

Mine is through Evershed! Some people are getting paid out before the mycol stage is up so maybe they have changed tactics or they are so overwhelmed that they have to do that with some claims and not others!! No fair

2nd letter 16/4/07
3rd letter 24/4/07
MYCOL 6/5/07

Hi, Wanna be wealthy woman,
I too am with Nationwide i am claiming via the local court. Today i recieved an allocation questionaire which i need to fill in and return. The same solicitors are on my court paperwork too. Its sounds to me like they are trying to confuse you, I have to say no body has contacted me by phone. Im abit worried about what happens next and am i filling the form in correctly, to be honest i didnt think it would get this far. I hope it goes well for you and good luck.0 -
Don't believe it - spoke to a lady in The Customer Experience Team who confirmed that the full amount is being refunded, and would start being processed today. Just found out about the news so called them to make sure it was still going through. Asked to speak to the person I spoke to yesterday - they'd 'left the office' (how convenient!!), and there was no note on my account saying that they would be refunded, and as I hadn't received it in writing yet my claim was being suspended as per the advice from nationwides board of directors following yesterdays news (along with all the other claims currently going through).
Gutted!!!!!!!Amount being claimed from Nationwide - £2794.50 + £524.09 in interest = £3318.59 + court fees = £3438.59
lodged with Moneyclaim online 29/06/2007
Amount to be claimed from HSBC - £730.00 (charges only). Email sent to customer relations 01/07/2007 & letter sent by recorded delivery 02/07/2007 (to be on the safe side!!!!!!)

Do you know what time you rang the call centre - they record all calls... so you need to let them know what time you called (helps speed it up!) also if you rang from a different telephone than the number they have listed for your account (ie work or mobile). this also helps find the recorded call!
Call centres have shift patterns and they do swop about so they could have left the office!
I worked in a call centre - you do get useless people but you do get the odd friendly, helpful one!
I would also advise using your mobile to call as you can record the call yourself. and take note of the persons name you talk to... call centre staff have a extension number for the phone they use (if they change desks they still keep the same number) and this is used to trace recorded calls too.
try asking for a manager when you get through and they will listen to the original call for you!
hope that helpsLight bulb moment April 07: [strike]£3,655 [/strike] Oct 07: [strike]£2,220[/strike] now 0 - 3 years of Uni debt to be added at a later datenow at Uni as a Mature student -update: now has a First Class BA!0
