Hi Can Anyone Tell Me How Long It Takes For Nationwide To Pay Back All Charges. I Am Claiming £3737.00 And Today £999.00 Was Paid Into My Account, So I Am Still Waiting For The Rest. Will It Be Over The Next Few Days Or Does It Take Longer Than That ?

Im just about to start my Money Claim on line against Nationwide... but I got a letter from a debt collectors agency asking me for the money I owed through nationwide (money Im claiming). What do I do now???! Shall I still carry on with the claim on line??? HELP PLEASE!!!!
  • Got a letter this morning from Eversheds stating that they intend to defend the claim!!! What do I do now? I don't have a folder full of statements, just the list of charges that Nationwide sent me when I requested it... Did the standard letters and am now really scared. Although I want back the £1200 plus the £120 court fees, I never expected it to go to court! Is this what they class as intimidation? Will I have to go to court and stand up and defend the fact the I did go overdrawn and it was totally my fault? HELP!!

Hi all just wanted to let you know that Nationwide go as far asthey can/dare hoping that you back down first. (read my other messages on previous pages to see how I got on and what I went thru) BUT I jut want to tell you that Nationwide did file a defence sent on their behalf by Eversheds solicitors and the court sent me the Allocation Questionair form to fill in. I filled in the form when I got it on 14/06/07 and was about to take it into my local court today but the post arrived before I set of and LO AND BEHOILD THERE WAS A LETTER FROM NAIONWIDE STATING THAT THEY PAID THE MONEY INTO MY ACCOUNT ON THE 14/06/07 (I rang my local branch to confirm it had gone in and it had) SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO glad Ive won.
SO to all those who are trying be brave, dont give up ,stand firm, stick to your guns and you will win because NO BANK has yet defended or given a judge the breakdown of their extortionate charges.
    Good luck to you all
CLAIMED £2007 in 2007 and got £2007 on 14/06/07 (claim started in Dec06)

    Hi Guys,
I'm still waiting to receive my statements, they have until the end of the week before the 40 days are up!!
Anyone else have to wait this long?
Have called them, quite helpful, they said they have no backlog & should get them in next few days.
    Just taking soooooo long!!!!

    Hiya

Had exactly the same prob. Contacted the people in the Data Protection Team as my 40 days were up last Saturday and still hadn't heard anything. Hang in there - received my details on Monday, but as I was in work didn't receive them until the Tuesday as they are sent by recorded delivery and you have to sign for them.
Have sent my letter to them today requesting the monies back, so I guess it's a 14 day wait, then send the court threatening letter then MCOL here I come!!!!!!!
    Amount being claimed from Nationwide - £2794.50 + £524.09 in interest = £3318.59 + court fees = £3438.59
    lodged with Moneyclaim online 29/06/2007

Amount to be claimed from HSBC - £730.00 (charges only). Email sent to customer relations 01/07/2007 & letter sent by recorded delivery 02/07/2007 (to be on the safe side!!!!!!)

  • Hi Ozzy, congratulations, glad you got your money back. :)
  • Has anyone had experience with Nationwide? Martin's first letter was sent off to the letter (along with the required £10) and Nationwide photocopied THIS letter returning the photocopy saying they couldn't respond to a letter which was not an original signed by the account holder!
What do we do next? The same again??

    Who is martin?
