  • Sorry - Do you mean the "Draft Order for Directions" should be attached to the AQ as section G? and do you think I should enter my bank account into Other Info area of form stating that it was omitted from my claim submission?
  • I have read a lot of the responses on this thread and FWIW and a bit late, I would write state that the amount is in dispute because you cannot default a disputed amount. I would then total the charges and follow the step by step guide and then you will get your money back.

an aside to this, NatWest has seen massive improvements since RBS tookover, ie real time banking, upgrading computer systems, branch refurbishments, newer branches opening, stopping the old NW dinosaurs closing branches, branch telephoney, uk call centres only. Happy new year everyone!
Barclays wrote to me that they will respond to my request for data of my account. Thay send back my cheque of 10.00. Today I got a letter that my account has been terminated under section 76(1) and 98(1) of the consumer Credit Act 1974. And given a deadline for 18/01/07 for the full amount to be paid. Also threatned default entry against my name. I am waiting for them to submit the charges to file take them to court. Last month I had 20.00 in my saving account and they took it. I am not sure waht to do now HELP!!!!!! Any information given will be appreciated.
  • I have claimed against Barclays and they didn't defend the claim. I successfully requested a judgement against them on the 2nd January.

What do I do now - should I wait a bit longer for a response, should I send them a letter warning that I am going to appoint baliffs?

    What have other people done?

You should have received a letter from the court that includes a copy of what has been sent to the bank. The court will request the bank settles within a certain time.

  • Can anybody advise me on whether to accept a partial offer of £1000 from barclays on a claim for £2745 very tempted but only started the proceedings 19/12/06 and feel should hold out for more and go the court way. It's all gone so quick can't think what i shoud do. Scared i will loseand not get anything.
  • Can anyone give advice on which charges i can claim back? All this talk for charges of £30 to £35 has me confused?

I have checked 5.5 years of statements and found the following fees

    2 x Paid referral @ £20

    8 x Paid referral @ £10

    1 x Monthly Usage Fee (Unauthorised Overdraft) @ £20

    9 x Item Unpaid @ £30

    3 x Item Unpaid @ £15

    1 x Insufficient Funds @ £25

Also, is it possible to make a claim against Barclaycard and RBS Credit Cards for charges as well?

You're the only person who can make that decision. You can write back and accept that amount in partial payment but will proceed to court for the rest.

It sounds like they have closed your account for some other reason as you haven't actually put in a claim for your bank charges. You need to look into why they have closed your account.

Had my 1st reply from Barclays today with my 10.00 cheque returned, I have only read the Barclays thread and not other banks etc. Worried that I'm going to be banging my head against a brick wall, are they harder than most to get the charges back?
Don't want to give up but think I may need to prepare myself for a fight. They helped get me into to the mess I'm in, they can help me out of it.
Why didn't someone kick me up the backside earlier:mad:
