Barclays Bank (merged)

I have just started proceedings against barclays and received my 6 years statements, alomng with 10 quid cheque back. While going through the statements I noticed "Paid referral 1 @ £20.00" - anyone know what this is? Can I claim it back?
Also, I am only claiming 60 quid back, so do they usually settle the smaller amounts a wee bit quicker.
Cheers..........0 -

Post 4 in this thread gives you details of what you can claim.

hiya moneysavers,
As Woolwich is now part of Barclays, I thought I'd ask if anyone has tried claiming from Woolwich?
They've returned my £10 to me and said they are fully investigating the issues I have raised (giving me a date by which they will reply). Is this normal or should I be worried?

Hi all,
Sorry if this information request has been posted before!!
Im trying to claim money back from my Barclaycard. When I rang them they said they are happy to give me 6 months back dated statements. Every months statement after that will cost me £3.
Just wanted to know if if this was correct and is there anything I can do to get around this?
Many thanks in advance!!0 -
Hello everyone!
I have written the first letter to Barclays asking for my statements. They replied within a couple of weeks returning my £10 cheque. However, there were no statements enclosed and they said that as some of the data I was requesting was old, they would take longer to supply it....
Has anyone else encountered this? Is it a stalling tactic?
Thanks,0 -

They are entitled to charge you for statements so send them the letter "Ask for charge details" along with a cheque for £10 which they may return to you.

They have 40 days to provide the information and sometimes this is sent out in batches.0 -
Hi guys, thought I would add my input onto the forum as I have been reading with great interest how well a lot of users have been in claiming their charges back. I sent my initial letter to Barclays with no cheque asking for 6 years worth of statements. I received a letter back a few days later stating that on this occasion they would send the statements free of charge but would not calculate the charges for me, which is more than fine with me! I have now calculated the charges and sent of my pay back letter with 14 days to respond or face legal action, so fingers crossed I hear back good news!! Thank you to this site so far! :O)

I understand that Barclays have 40 days to send the data. I was just a little alarmed that everyone else seems to have been sent the data with the initial letter and I have not.0

OK, So i sent my second letter asking for my 60 quid back (not much i know, but its an extra night in the pub  )!, but then after reading some of these threads, if they reject my letter and then it goes to court, I will have to pay £120? Is this correct? If so, it is hardly worth my while contesting if they reject my 2nd ltter as I will be £60 worse off.
Anyone else know of a claim which was under £100?
Cheers.0
