    Hi there
we have just received a letter with the Allocation questionnaire...can someone give me an idea of how long after sending it back to the court, you were hearing about a court date..and roughly how far away was the date?
Only we are leaving the country at the end of the month (we know there is virtually no chance of getting a date before that)....but have seen quite a few people saying that once you have a court date it is worth ringing Barclays to see if they will increase the offer...
Also we are claiming approx £1700 but it says we need to pay £100 on the filling out of the questionaire...any one know why?
And finally :-)..when i was searching through the boards a while ago someone had given out the phone number of a lady working for barclays, i believe that they suggested to ring to see about getting an increased offer..anyone point me in the right direction?
    many thanks jill

Standard reply from Barclays, send off the LBA, letter before action, and follow your timescale from Martin's article.
  • is it worth giving them a ring to gee things up a bit. like see if they with to settle out of court.

Also posted on the Successes thread:

    Bank: Barclays
    Amount Reclaimed: £1800
    Amount they paid: £1800
    The story:
followed the steps in the article, they offered £1000 we rejected and logged a claim online. They acknowledged and defended so we got a court date through for July. However the judge asked the defendent to supply a list of the charges being claimed and justification for these one month prior to the court date - what a clever man!!! So, here we are 1 week before Barclays had to submit this info and they settled!! Just in time for our holidays - hurrah!!!!
