Im in the process of sending my second letter. Barclays sent me there usual letter saying it will take 8 weeks to investigate. The 14 days are up from my first letter now.
DO I send the letter now or wait a while longer. First letter sent 17th May 07. Do I stick to my time frame or somewhere in the middle of mine and theirs?
Hi,
Send the letter now, always stick to your own time frame
I did just that and i got a payout from Barclays, they do try to stall and put you off by saying that you agreed to their terms and conditions when you opened the account but take no notice of that and go for it
Good Luck

we owe more too barclays than we are claiming, but i still feel its not right that they are using our money too pay off my debt.
I forgot too say in my opening post that i have a DMP and barclays are being paid a small sum each month, the phone no was on a letter we received from barclays explaining they were investigating my case.0 -

metal...did u send the letter giving them 2 options after the 14 day limit or longer?
cheers cat
so far i have used all the very useful letters on this site, from the phone call i had earlier i was told all mail in regards to claims has to go via customer relations in Leicester and they are looking into the claim, they also stated no decision will be made for at least 8 weeks (delaying again!!).
as letter 6 mentions they can either pay the amount & interest i have been charged or pay what i indicated as a final offer? they have 14 days from 5.6.2007 to sort this out finally or it will go to court!
thing is i can see that happening!0 -
I'm going to file a claim on MCOL in the morning but was wondering if it may be worth giving someone a bell at Barclays to see if they would make an offer.
Has anyone else tried this and if so what number can you get them on?
Cheers

I am claiming £1915 (EXCLUDING INTEREST), I have today received an offer from barclays of £1435 which is £480 short of what i am claiming back. Is it worth accepting this?? or do you know anyone who has rang up and negotiated a new deal?, to be honest I would be happy to accept about £1700.0

Well I finally have my court date and its October that will be a year to the month that I first wrote to Barclays asking for my money back. I am dreading copying out 3 pages of everything if thats what I have to do for the court bundle, maybe I should start copying now!!0

sent copies of statements
they stated 8 weeks to reply as per FSA
then offered me 80% of the £900 I am claiming
declined this offer (maybe I am greedy!)
asked them to pay full amount or take to court
two letters requesting-no reply
filled out MCOL and they had 14 days to reply
14th day filed they needed more time
court gave them 28 more days
last day they are contesting the full amount
waiting to see what happens now being transferred to local court
not sure but think they are trying to string this out hoping I get fed up
I am fed up, but ready to fight in court, and am looking forward to my date in court
To be honest if I lose out, it's money I didn't have but want my day in court if it happens as they are wanting to grind me down.
David vs Goliath!0
