I am Claiming back 2300 from Barclays i had a offer of 1720 a few weeks back which i rejected.
I have decided that i want to take that and not bother with the courts.
What do you think the chances of them letting me do this if i calle dthem and said i had decided against courst action and would accept there offer or should i just sign the letter and send it off?
I still have the original offer waiting to be signed and sent off to accept.
Think I'd sign it and send it back. The amount of claims these people are dealing with at the moment would probably mean they would pay up.0 -
Even though i wrote to them saying that i rejected it?0

I found a phone number for Barclays Litigation Department (somewhere in the forums) and rang it today to find out who was dealing with my claim. I was given a name and their direct dial number.
I was informed that I needed to wait till I have a court date issued, then about 3 weeks before it gets to court I will be made an offer. They are unwilling to settle early due to the volume of claims but they will settle.
The original post said that they had been paid out in full! So anyone entering into the court process, just hang on and sit it out, you will get paid! However it will take you at least another 2 months after starting your claim on the MCOL (court website) to get to this final offer!

hi
just got a letter back from barclays after i sent off a request for £985, two weeks ago ..
they replied
In relation to your views, on this occasion, and without any admissions of liability, i am willing to offer you the sum of £725 towards the total amount you are seeking. This is with the cost and inconvieniance inherent in a further dispute in mind and is intended as a gesture of goodwill, in full and final settlement of your complaint. If you would like to accept my offer ....
they say that the payment will arrive in 10 days after returning the form
I'm about 80% sure i'm going to accept as £725 is a fair amount
but part of me wants to get the whole amount but i'm sure that it will delay everything and i cant be bothered with the hasel
what would you lot do?
best

If you are asking us, and if the rest of this forum is representative of our communal views on the matter, I suspect that you have already decided and are just looking to us for confirmation.
Personally, I would reply with a question of my own (well, mine and Spencer Johnson's), "What would you do with £260, if you weren't afraid?"The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life.0 -
yea putting it that way does make a difference . .£265 would be usufull to sort out some debts ...
has anyone else had a simular experiance with barclays and proceeded past a full and final settlement to claim back the fulll amount?0 -
