Thanks for the link Phil; but not too sure about it, as it does'nt look like a printable page to file in court. looks like about credit card charges and not bank charges. dont want a judge to throw it out just for that.
but anyway..fingers crossed bank will phone me to settle.
To make things worse just printing off 3 copies of court bundles, and printer has stopped working, too late to look at it now will do it tomorrow.
just not my day today.
THANKS ANYWAY MATE!!!!Not just a white vanman:cool:
I'm no expert in things really but i do have 36 years of experience in life, and some of those years fighting off bailiffs.
Nicknamed Victor Meldrew among friends as i love to complain;)0 -
Please can someone advise me what to do next. I have received a letter back from Barclays (after sending three letters in total), advising me that they are not excepting liability however they are offering me £1360.00 when my claim was for £2450.00, they have also advised that if I am not happy with the responce I can refer it to the Financial Ombudsman Service. What can I do next, I do not want to except this amount as I do not think it is enough however I would except £2000.00 - how can I advise them of this without it effecting my claim.
I would really appreciate it if someone could advise me on what to do.
Many thanks

Hi,
I have just recieved an offer today of £770.00 which I am really pleased with. My original claim was £1189 (including interest).
The £770 will help me a lot to clear my o/d so will be accpeting with a big smile.
Just wanted to say thankyou to Martin and everyone on the forum that has helped me out.
I am now beginning the process for my bf on his account and am also in the process of claiming back from a couple of my cc's.
Fingers crossed and thanks again

 well....received a letter from Barclays offering me a reduced settlement.....BUT THE COURT HAS ALDREADY SET JUDGEMENT!!!!!LOL....Does the left hand know what the right is doing!!!!
Got told by a very nice man to take the judgement letteres when they arrive into a local branch and they will sort to pay the money into the accounts. He said you have to realise we have over 12,000 of this claims going on at the moment so we are very busy and he was sorry that I HAD TO TAKE THEM TO COURT TO GET MONEY:beer:
So thankyou Barclays for £2000 i never thought i would see again...roll on the holidays....:T0 -

Give them a call or write back and say something like....
'I'm afraid I cannot accept £160 as a full and final settlement of my claim. I will accept this as a part payment and without prejudice, but I will continue my claim for the balance which, because of the time lapsed since the beginning of my claim, is now being dealt with by the courts.'
Just be prepared for them to take the money credited back if they don't like that idea...its a real possibility...
That £260 isn't with the interest added is it? and if so is the £160 without interest? If it is you must accept...if £260 is without interest, send the letter/call and contine your claim...once you know if they want their 'good will gesture' back or not you can phone the court and get your claim changed to the outstanding amount..apparently its very easy...
good luck m8....0 -
Just had my bank statments through for the last six years, and ive worked it out to be £3335 ( thats a load of dosh ),
going to send the first letter askin for the money back on sat,
has anyone else been able to recover this amount back, ( my account is overdrawn at present would that go against me when trying to claim back)
How long does it normally take for the bank to respond on the first letter asking for the money back???0
