I have only just joined and would appreciate advice. I sent a template letter to Nat west ,posted it to my local branch (as in these days of call centre was unsure of address.)
It took them a month to send the statements
I have sent a first 'demand' letter = no acknowledgement or response .
Sent a 2nd template re accepting a lower offer ( without prejudice) asking for a reply in 14 days or Court. Again no response
The only acknowledgement that they have recieved my comunications is the bank statments. Does anyone know to whom I should ring .
I am due to issue Court proceedings on Wednesday. Should I now go for it as I am still worried that I might lose???
NB My daughter is suffering the same silence form Barclays She still has notreceived her statements -40 days later and cannot work out an amount to demand0 -
For accounts that are closed and you don't have the account numbers, use the template letter (below) as normal asking for your information/statements and give the bank your name, any relevant addresses and your date of birth and the bank should be able to trace your account from those details.

If you haven't had your statements/info as yet please use this letter and report the bank to the ICO.

If your account has been closed by the bank and perhaps sent to a DCA please be aware that although you claim via the bank, they are likely to put any monies reclaimed towards any debt.0 -

Hello all,
Does anybody know how I would go about obtaining my old Barclays account number for a letter template to re-claim bank charges if my account is already closed? Is it as simple as ringing up and asking or will I have more difficulty obtaining it?
Thanks in advance for your help.

You will need to write to them giving as much detail about yourslef as you can. They will then be able to locate your account details. Don't be fobbed off.

Thanks Mad,
I've just done the letter now and popped it in the post so fingers crossed I'll hear something back. I think I've started something now though, my sister saw me writing the letter and has decided to do the same! Look out Barclays!!

Hi
Just to let you know a friend of mine has just been offered £500.00 out of charges of £675, she has agreed. It was a closed Barclays account and settled within 2 months.
Unfortunately luckier than me I have 2 claims with Barclays started last December, both not settled.
Keep fighting they do pay out.0
