Hi whilst I was a student and for a few years after I had a Barclaycard with a credit limit of only £350 nearly every month for about 6 years I got a charge for being late. I paid it all off 3 years ago and foolishly binned all my statements because I didn't want any memories of the incident. Is it still possible to reclaim my charges. I don't have my account number!!
thanks0 -
Hi all,
I am new here but wondered if anyone could help me. Me and my hubby had a really bad financial time a few years ago and were being charged by the Woolwich quite often. We closed this account April 2006, is it still possible to try and claim all the charges on this account?
I know the account number, will they be able to send me statements etc.. for this account so I can start the process?
Blessings

Send your letter off to your bank giving your personal details, name, address and date of birth and they should be able to trace any closed accounts for you.
As you are asking for all Data on YOU rather than an account this should cover all accounts you may have or have had at the bank. Don't forget to include the £10 to cover the cost of this.0 -
Yes you can claim on a closed account, follow the same process as a normal claim. Good luck.Any spelling mistakes are entirely on purpose to check you're paying attention0

Hey People,
I am just wondering what the possible remedies are if you have paid up all your bank charges and the account has now been closed? Is it still possible for me to claim the bank charges. I still have the account number and sort code for the account in question. Please Help!
Many Thanks

Hi All
I have a question about closed accounts, and this seemed like the best place to ask it without starting another thread.
When I ask for 6 years worth of statements to claim charges for in the initial letter, is that six years from today, or six years from the date I closed my account?
Best Wishes

I had a student account with Lloyds when I was a less mature student. I have got my statements so I don't need to do the DPA letter and I'm about to go after £900 of charges from them.
One of my close friends is also going after Barlcays, she's about to go into a DMP and although the Barclays account has been closed, she was issued a defualt by them because of their charges and I think she is going to try to reclaim and get the default removed. She has indicated she is in the position where LTSB have have charged her about £400 and started recovery proceedings to recover about £300 of debt because of this but she is hopeful she might be able to stop it going any further by trying to claim the charges.£2 Coin Savers Club (Christmas)- £86£1 Jar (Christmas)- £29Christmas Vouchers Saved: £1450
