    Hi,

I'm just going through my NatWest statements and every month there are charges (no explanation). This started from £6 per month back in 2001 to £40 last month. Is this some sort of account fee I'm paying for? I do have an overdraft.

    Thank you for your time

I'm guessing that the £6 per month could be for your account being an Advantage Gold account .. I could be wrong, but that's the standard charge per month for having that type of account.

If you have any queries at all on your charges, please phone the bank and check as this becomes important later if you claim for the wrong thing.

Thank you Ken.W. I take it that the payment is now £40 per month then. It just seems a huge amount every month, just for an overdraft facility.

I agree, although I thought that the £6 was a standard, fixed fee; the fact that it's now £40 p/month leads me to think that it's some other type of charge levied on, however .. Edinburghlass is spot on .. see the bank and find out exactly what you're being charged for.

If Your Not Sure If You Have An Advantage Gold Account Look On The Bottom Of Your Statements .. It Will Say `Advantage Gold`

Also .. If The Charge WAS For That Type Of Account It Would Actually Say Account Fee Or ADG Charge On Your Statement (I Was On Advantage Gold For A While Until I Realised I Was Paying £10 Per Month For Nothing!)

And If You Are Paying For An Overdraft Facility You Should Have Had A Letter Informing You Of The Charging Stucture..They Shouldnt Be Just Willy Nilly Amounts!!

Ring Your Branch..If They Wont Help You Go In And Demand To Speak To Someone!! x

    Hi,

We stupidly throw away the last page of our statement..However last months bank statement has not been filed and it states...

The charge is based on an Advantage Gold subscription of £12.
Plus an Unarranged Borrowing Fee of £28.
    Amount to be deducted £40.

So can I claim for the £28?
