Wheehey:j I love this site:j Over the years it has saved me sooo much and given me hours of free fun. LOL

Today was day 14! Just before I dashed off my 'taking you to court mate' letter I rang my local Natwest branch to confirm they had received my letter. A very nice lady checked my file and confirmed that
    a: they had received it
    and
b: a reply is in the post offering to repay all my charges claimed (just under £500 but not the interest.

I can't wait for it to plop on the mat (hopefully soon). I only chucked in the interest hoping it would encourage them to settle early. One of my sons has just broken the kitchen window today playing football so that money can be put to good use:rolleyes: LOL

    Hi All
I noticed on the success thread Nat West are saying that claims with interest attatched take longer, They are great at pulling any old nonsense out of the hat. I'm still confused with their ad-hoc way of dealing with these claims, some get paid out after a letter, a phone call or in the 11th hour before court.

I notice my claim with M.C.O.L has now been acnowledged, so I am busy doing my homework proparing for court, I've not revised so much since my uni days.

But for now I have to sit and wait, it's great to know I'm not alone though.

Don't worry this sounds like a standard "trying to put you off letter". Just stick to Martin's step by step guide and you will be fine :D

why is it that natwest are taking so long though. i started with the letters same time as mate against hsbc and she didnt have to go to court. settled up without any real hassle. its such apain, although of course if get payout - it will have all been worth it.

  • I know it can get really annoying. I claimed with Halifax and it was very straightforward and paid out without anything to do with court.

But other companies I am dealing with are just taking the P!

I think the amount of requests they will be getting now they must just pay someout straightaway and other, try and scare them into giving up!

What they don't know though is that none of us are going to :D
  • So, I've fired off my letter reclaiming charges, and the 14 days are up. I had a letter a while ago saying something along the lines of 'thankyou for bringing this to my attention, I feel it will be beneficial for your concern to be taken forward by our Customer Relations Unit who will contact you in due course...'

Not heard anything since, time for the next letter.(The 'I've not had a satisfactory reply, please sort this within 7 days or I will open a can of whupass on you' letter)

Just wondered if anyone can please clarify 2 things for me - thanks!

    1) address to send this to? This came from 'Manchester retail customer service centre' - do I reply to this address and cc my branch? whatabout the Borehamwood address and so on?

    2) in the letter template '...and therefore the {insert name of court here} will rule in my favour' - do I need this yet as I haven't started any court proceedings? is it just 'Oldham county court', which is my local county court?

thanks tonnes everyone and congrats to all those who have had a victory!

    Hi,

I'm just going through my NatWest statements and every month there are charges (no explanation). This started from £6 per month back in 2001 to £40 last month. Is this some sort of account fee I'm paying for? I do have an overdraft.

    Thank you for your time
