Yes, because i set myself a level of £1k to accept, so i'm still over my target.
The £1k clears my overdraft, the rest is all for beer.
In fact, I might just contact the people at Moneyclaim to see if there's any way I can get any money back.
In this situation, I have to admit, i'm looking at it positively as a gain of £1280 rather than a loss of £570 (court fees & interest)0 -

According to Nickmack, what we need to do is write to the bank requesting the court fees back as well, or else the claim will continue.0 -

I have become so insensed by the holier-than-thou trumpeting of the bank I have become a bit vengefull in all this, the staggering incompetance of some bank staff you read about in fellow posters stories here, and my own experience of the attitude of an organisation that I have been a customer of for more than 30 years, may have warped my sense of Justice.
I'm going after every penny I can get, remembering the abject frustration and tears of my wife and I at the intransigence of the bank, and it's couldn't care less attitude for the problems it directly caused.
I thought the banking industry was a service sector business. They seem to think it's a self-service industry.
Sorry - Rant over.
Nick.Whoever said "it's only money" had too much of it!;)

Hiya, i posted yesterday but it didnt seem to get put up.
I was wondering about a bank account that ihad with the natwest. It was closed last year with charges taking me to minus £470. It was only absolved when the financial ombudsman became involved and they got them to close the account.
That was great and the ombudsman were really helpful.
The only thing im wondering is if i could still try to reclaim all the other charges i incurred in the years before this one big amount.
The ombudsman just closed the account as it stood, they didnt look over the history of the charges. I struggled with Natwest for a long time before it got to the Ultimate £470.
Can i still try to reclaim these other charges if the ombudsman were involved?
Please help!!0 -
As you have already used the FO for this account it might be an idea to go to them regarding the bank charges as they will help with a reclaim.0

I have received an offer from natwest. What i need to know is the following:
I have two accounts (all my letters and the claim that i put in, which has been acknowledged, has always been for the two accounts jointly).
1. Charges £2117.81 (incl interest)
2. Charges £365.93 (incl Interest)
The offer i have received is for £2110.00. On the paper that they want me to sign to say full and final settlement they have only detailed the 1st account and not the 2nd.
Should i accept this, could i still go for the 2nd account or do you think that this figure they have offered is for both accounts.
My argument would be that it clearly states on the form to be signed the 1st account, which would mean i could still go for the 2nd account.
The 2nd question is, how do i reclaim my court fees (£120.00), or should i let it run and go for the whole amount. Also how do i get them to remove the default notice, should i accept the amount they are offering.
Any suggestions would be gratefully appreciated.

This is the the standard letter that they send to all. Stick to your time frame and not theirs. (i.e when the 14 days are up, send 2nd letter from template).
Good luck

As you, like me, have already started the court process I would also think hard about writing back along the lines of "Too late, matey, you had your chance to settle in the stated timescale, you didn't and court proceedings have started. I want it all and the court fees"Whoever said "it's only money" had too much of it!;)

Thanks Nick44
I also have another option, if it is feasible.
I could accept this offer. Once i have the money, i could then go ahead with the claim for the 2nd account. The only thing is with this, how do i get my court fee back for the claim that is in now, or should i cut my losses.
I am tempted to accept offer and persue the claim for 2nd account, as above. the form the want me to sign, clearly details one account and one sort code. The joint account is with another branch so also has a different sort code as well as account no (obviously).
Do you know how i can word a letter that i would accept the offer but also want the default removed from my credit file....
