Today was the last day before starting court proceedings, so called NatWest Customer Relations to see if there was any response as yet to save them having to go to court blah blah.
Didn't call me back when they said they would. Called back again to be told that they are vey busy and are working to a 2 month turnaround and if I wasn't happy with that then I could take them to court!...so I am. Did online claim this afternoon.
Can you imagine if they sent you a letter saying they wanted money within 7 days, would they accept you saying, sorry I'm too busy for the next 2 months!

Wrote to Natwest on 13th January 2007, claiming £4129, second letter crossed with their standard "we are looking into it" letter, today got a settlement of £4129. So much for their two month turnaround, I think it all depends on who's desk it lands on! this took three weeks from start to finish!
Now I am about to tackle Capital One!

Well done. Dont expect such quick turnaround with Cap one. I am still waiting for statements and have requested these twice now and they are on their last 10 days to supply them. I am not writing to them anymore and will take it up with the governing body if they dont reply.
Good luck and keep us all informed.

PaulW922 wrote:Guys - the Royal Mail recorded service is notoriously unrelaible - I use it at work a lot and frequently find that there is no record of delivery. I think you can be satisfied that the letters were delivered and that RM have just screwed up the notification. If you have the receipt and a copy of the letter then I reckon that unless the item is returned to you undelivered you can work on the basis that the bank has it. If it comes to it, tell the bank you sent it by recorded and I doubt they will dispute that. (You could use special delivery but that costs a lot more)
Ok so you would just send now second letter? shall I attach a copy of first letter and copy of my charges again just to be on safe side? and can I just walk into my branch and hand this over the desk at customer services? or should I send it again recorded delivery? thanks for your help and advice.0 -

I would do both, send it RD to head office (bishopsgate) and hand in at branch, but make sure you get receipt. All my letters i sent, were sent RD and to branch and head office. That way i doubly made sure that they had it and could not say they didnt.
Good luck

thinking natwest charged me roughly 500.00 over the last 6 years, having gone through my 6 years worth of statments, it came to 1,600.00 which i was amaized at. referral fees of upto 60.00 a month!!!!! amaizing that they never showed these on my monthly statments.
Anyway, ive sent a summary back to natwest requesting these back (-interest). Only a two weeks into this and not a word, but i know they will sent the usual standard fobb off stuff!!!
thanks to all the people on here for giving me the confidence to claim these moneys back!cheers.0 -
