 Well friends, I just did it! MCOL, paid my £120 now the real fun begins.
I sort of knew that I wouldn't be one of the lucky ones that just had to ask. My life's like that. But........ There will be one hell of a party when I bank Mr Higley's cheques for £4532 + Interest £964.32, oh, and my £120 for the court too.
Recieved a letter from Fat West this morning, from the Wimbledon lending centre! (there's a first )
"Sorry Blah Blah, contact Customer Services in Borehamwood"
So it appears that although my branch managed to send the 1st letter to the right place, the 2nd one went elsewhere. Good job I cc'd Mr Higley anyway:rotfl:
The communal experience of all in this thread appears to be that bank staff are absolutley clueless!
Something I have suspected for years.
Whoever said "it's only money" had too much of it!;)

Nat West under my belt £4532, LTSB, £7300, Barclays, £2300, First Bank of America, £3200. Rates overcharge £1700. Just working on Egg

Hi if Rex or another wise man are available?
I have my MCOL paperwork through now, they have allocated me a court in Northampton. I live in London. Is this something that I should be trying to get moved to a court near me, or working on the principle that it is unlikly ever to get that far leave it alone? Thanks.

I was charged £38 for going overdrawn by a £6 direct debit (union subscription). I paid a cheque in a few days beforehand and it cleared the day after the DD went out. So, for the sake of £6 and 24 hours, I got charged £38.

Went down to a NatWest branch - not my own, I hasten to add - and saw someone. Explained the situation and told them, in polite terms, that they were extracting the urine - I've been charged before and I've always paid it, because it was my own fault for not being organised.

Bloke said that they'd refund it this time (as a 'gesture of good will' - I hate that phase because it basically means 'don't f*** with us again') but they couldn't do it again.

The £38 was back in my account within 24 hours.

Needless to say, I've taken a keen interest in running my account.

Ok so i have been trying to claim back just over 4k (without interest)

My branch have sent my letter to wimbledon and they have forwarded it to the customer relations unit.

I have just phoned them and they advised it should be dealt with by my branch.

I have sent a copy of my letter to borehamwood address (thanks whoever posted it)

Just not sure what to do now?? Has anyone got a number for borehamwood so i can call them?

Really want to get this resolved now and not sure if calling my branch will do anything as the letters have been forwarded from there now?

    any advise appreciated.

Good for you! It doesn't matter if you're claiming £1 or £1,000 its your money and better off in your pocket than theirs.

As for them replying...how long is piece of string?

    Good luck anyway :D

Which letter have you sent? The addresses you need should be in this thread:

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=304064

If they are sent to your local branch, they should be forwarded to the appropriate department anyway. It sounds like they're stalling.

If it's the Subject Access Request you're waiting for, they have 40 days. If they don't meet this, file a complaint to the Data Protection Commissioner.

If it's a subsequent request for repayment, they have whatever timescale you have specified. Just continue with the next stage.

    nickmack,

    thanks for replying.

I have had all my statements and send the first letter claiming them back to my branch, they forwarded all my post to Wimbledon and it is now being forwarded to the customer relations unit.

I called customer relations and they said it should be dealt with by my branch?

Do you know where the offers should come from? my branch or elsewhere?

I have just tried calling my branch but they are busy with other customers

Is borehamwood your branch? If it is the number should be on your statements, not that this helps because with Natwest if you dial your local branch after 5 rings the divert you to the main call centre, but the good bit is it is based in england!!!!
 I'll get you debts and your little dog too!!!
And best of luck to all the other debt busters out there!!

My branch is wokingham so i will try calling them.

Just seems like my letter is being sent all over the place so they dont have to deal with it.

I asked for a reply with 14 days but keep getting letters saying its been sent somewhere else.

just hope i get through to the branch....

    thanks for your help
