and another thing, i've incurred more charges since i first started doing this. how do i go about getting them back, start the process again, or add it on to the current claim? thank you
I think that if you havn't started your MCOL you can add them now, if you have then you will need to (as I am ) start another claim. The dear little chickabidies at Nat West have stuffed me with another £200 since I started!
Whoever said "it's only money" had too much of it!;)

Nat West under my belt £4532, LTSB, £7300, Barclays, £2300, First Bank of America, £3200. Rates overcharge £1700. Just working on Egg

Im sorry to say but I used to work for Barclays and I was a culpret of the tell em anything to shut them up was of working and yes that is what they do, unless you research the stuff before you call them or demand to speak to a supervisor you will end up talking to a spotty 16 year old that has spent a week getting drunk at barclays training facilities all expenses paid and I know for a fact natwest do the same. Anyhow, filled out my letter 3 template, and Rex, if you are reading this, the claim is for £4700, so thankfully not over the £5k I was dreading!

Posted letter 1st class recorded delivery just now, so they should get that tomorrow (will check online at th PO website) then they have 14 days.

    Will keep you updated.

There is no guarantee that any bank will give you a cheque especially if the account is overdrawn they will expect any reclaim to be used to pay that off.

You can certainly ask for a cheque but if the account is open they will more than likely pay any monies into the account.

Today is the 14th day after I sent Natwest the list of charges I want to reclaim and I have heard no news from them at all (although I checked that they received the letter the following day after I posted it). But what did happen is that someone called me from NatWest yesterday and they said that my account had gone overdrawn in the morning because of a direct debit and that this was in violation of the T&Cs and she asked me if I would like to get a loan from them that would help me pay off my overdraft and my credit card too....is this just a coincidence, were they trying to tell me something, or am I being paranoid? lol

We've seen this happen here before, consensus is that it's just a co-incidence.

Time to take the next step now have left it a while, due to our post being ludicrously unreliable

I got my statements in November and sent off my letter asking for money back on 3rd of December. On 7th of January I received a letter thanking me for my enquiry and asking me to bear with them they were looking into.

I've not heard anything else so I guess next step is the court letter

Just one question, I have reclaimed just over £2400 in charges incl interest.

Coincidentally my overdrafts to Natwest come to £2100 which I live in constantly and hit at the end of the month. Do you think if I told them they I was happy for the money they owe me to be used to cancel out the money I owe them it would speed up the process/sway the decision my way?

    cheers
  • HI ALL, new here, but just done my letter, seems so little only £532.19 with interest when some of yours are over 7k. Still maybe they will just pay up, i had no probs getting my bank statments just rang up and they said it would cost a fiver..i said ok, and they came in the post today, will sent it off and see how it goes. when i rang i did ask the women if theres many people doing this and she said "she`s not allowed to say"..i take it thats a yes then. good luck to you all.

It's pot luck how your claim is dealt with. Chances are that they will put the money into your account anyway.

Hi just a quick one, i am in the process of claiming back £1137 charges from natwest, the account i am claiming from is defaulted, if and when they pay up, how will they pay me?
By cheque? or can they credit the account even though it was defaulted before i started the claim?
    Thanks.
Ps 2 of my friends at school told me today they had full settlements from natwest this week after only the 1st letter requesting charges back.
