Sent my LBA in November last yr and had a reply basically telling me to 'sod off'.

A colleague at work had a recent letter in January stating that they will consider her claim and make a good will gesture offer. Sent a complaint letter and had an offer to reimburse the full amount claimed at £1075, result!!!!

Any idea as to how long this will take to appear into my accout if i send acceptance tomorrow?

    Many Thanks

Nat West - 14 days up today and received letter "charges legal etc etc" but offering 1700. Was claiming charges of 2135 and interest of 250.59. Can you tell me if I phone NAT WEST tomorrow and say - prepared to settle before going to court but would want 2000 charges [not charging interest] once this has been done if the bank refuse do I then have to go to court for full amount or can they say no only 1700 and might choose to accept. Would appreciate any help before I ring them tomorrow - thanks J
Nat West - MCOL March - FatWest defended - hearing date 4 July - 2300 claimed and still having charges put onto account!!

HSBC - sent 14 day - still waiting for reply. MCOL by end of week - claiming 795 - eventually paid out £560.

Halifax - sent for statements Feb - cheque cashed - nothing received - reported to FSA - paid up almost amount claimed before official complaint registered with FSA

Sorry, should have made more clear - is it possible to haggle over the amount or would the 1700 be their final offer before court??

Well Done, how long did it take from start to fininsh I am claiming at the mo!
I think defo they would give you a cheque.
spoke to them today and as my account is with credit management any money they offer as a goodwll gesture must be paid off what i owe them so instead of having £4000 spend on house i have £4000 less debt to pay!!
will not give a cheque at all!

    just a quick question...

thanks to everyone on here i finally plucked up the courage to go for it and reclaim my money!! have recieved my statements today and have just completed the charge list and letter, but now i am unsure where to send it. do i send it to my branch and somewhere else too? do i need to send it recorded delivery?

also...should i be sending my letter and including interest on money they owe me, or is this jusr greedy?

thanks for any help you can provide.

well i got a letter from natwest saying that they needed my signature (i hadn't signed the letter which asked for my statements) anyway the letter said "in the meantime we acknowledge receipt of the payment for £10.00 in respect of the fee".
Doesn't that mean they have taken my money?
because today i got a letter saying they want £5.00 cause that's how much it costs not £10.00. i am going to go to bank & find out tomorrow but just wondered if anyone else could say any different?
    many thanks

Hi just a quick one, i am in the process of claiming back £1137 charges from natwest, the account i am claiming from is defaulted, if and when they pay up, how will they pay me?
By cheque? or can they credit the account even though it was defaulted before i started the claim?
    Thanks.
Ps 2 of my friends at school told me today they had full settlements from natwest this week after only the 1st letter requesting charges back.

They will more than likely want the money to go to pay off any debt rather than give you a cheque.

You could try but be aware you may end up having to take court action.

Your first request can go to your local branch and yes send recorded.

Some banks are just charging £5, ask about that when you go to the bank.
