[The problem is that one of the parcels was open]
Hi Alexhenty - this is my 1st post too! and it's all thanks to you! I received my Natwest statements last week, also 5 inches thick and wrapped in brown paper. The packaging on mine was also ripped to shreds - although the statements inside were in mint condition and not a page bent. I was just about to write to the Royal Mail (yet again!) to complain about the state my post was in (due to long-running saga about postman - which is another story). Thanks to your post I shall now be writing to Natwest re the unprofessional management of confidential papers.Proud to be dealing with my debts

I got some great news today, I sent off my first letter claiming back bank charges totalling £645 inc interest last Thursday and got a reply today, basically saying they didnt agree with my complaint letter and charges were fair but as a good gesture will they were willing to give me £593 back.
Ive just got to send off the reply letter now and hopefully it will all be sorted soonBrilliant!

I started a claim with Natwest on the 27th December last year. I was pretty sceptical at first, but thought I'd see how it goes, I've got nothing to lose! Anyway a couple of years ago I hit a tough patch and was getting £200 odd a month of charges which just made it all that much harder to get myself out of trouble so when I totalled up the charges from the last 6 years, I had just over £5000 on my account! with interest I asked Natwest for £6300. I got a reply after a week which said "we are looking into your complaint" then that was it. so after 1 month I sent a letter threatning court action and said I would settle for £5000.
Then yesterday I had a letter explaining why they apply charges to my account, and why they disagree with my claim etc. etc, however as a gesture of goodwill and not admitting any liability etc. etc. they offered me £4500 to settle!!
I will accept the offer as it is only £500 less than I was asking for, but I am over the moon about it. After all my anger when Natwest were making it so hard for me to get out of debt, I have finally got one back on them! :j  :T :rotfl: :money:
So HUGE thanks to Martin for making me aware of this and I'm off to plan what I'm going to do with the cash!!!0 -

Am just about to send my third letter but am a little confused
This is based on the Unfair Terms in Consumer Contracts Regulations, as I believe these default charges are unfair and not proportionate to your costs, and therefore the [INSERT NAME OF COURT] court will rule in my favour.
What do I put in as the name of the court?
Thanks
Kate

Hello friends in need/deed!
Having gone through the various letter writing stages, all of which have been ignored by Natwest, I am now completing the Claim Form for the small claims court, and I would appreciate advice on the following points:
1. What, if any, documentation should be attached to the claim form? Copy letters? Copy calculations and interest form?
2. How much information to include in the Particulars of Claim: just the details filled as per the sample from this site, or more detail?
Thanks in advance!0 -
