I am a bit nervous as i have never used a chat forum before and am wondering if anyone can give me any advice on this matter. I wrote to Natwest on 2nd January 07 and they sent my statements to me about a week ago. The problem is that one of the parcels was open and i have no way of knowing if any pages are missing since they seem to start at page 115 but i asked for 6 years worth and they do start at Dec 1999.
Nat West have a problem with historical statements as they were taken over by RBS about 4 years ago, and the computer systems all changed, when you go back 6 years they have to look in two places, with two different date formats and period lenghts.
I had a similar problem identifying the chronological order and figured out that the thing you need to identify is the "sheet" number ( in a pale greyyblue oval) on the bottom left hand corner. sort out all the sheets that do not have this sheet number and put them off to one side. The ones without a sheet number are the monthly summary sheets, any items on these should alreay be on the numbered sheets. Arrange the sheets in numerical order, but beware of the count restarting after 999. Hope this helps.Whoever said "it's only money" had too much of it!;)

Hi There
Could anybody give me the address for Natwest please? I have just finished calculating how much they have charged me over the last three years, and its a whopping £3137.78. The interest (calculated using this forums calculator) is £244.74. The only address I have for them is 135 Bishopsgate, London, but I'm sure that isn't the right place to send it to.
Many thanks, Deedee.0 -

If you were feeling sarky you could mark it for the attention of Stuart Higley.Whoever said "it's only money" had too much of it!;)

Done and dusted in a month.
I'm not sure what I've done right, but I have just had my £833 charges refunded to my account, no hassle, and I only sent off for my statements at Xmas.
All it took was one letter asking for the money back.
I didn't get the statutory interest, but for me it was just a bargaining tool.
£833 return for one letter and a £10 cheque in a month is pretty good return on investment as far as I can see particularly as I'm so rubbish with money all the charges were pretty much my own fault for spending too much. lol.
Now, where are my IF statements......0 -

If the claim is over slightly over £5k, you can ask the court to allocate it to small claims on the basis you are a litigant in person. Natwest always enter a defence and use a solicitors firm called Cobbetts. Thier standard tack is to put in a CPR18 request (request for further information) in with the defence regardless of the amount claimed in an attempt to intimidate you. I wrote to the judge and copied it to thier solicitors regarding this. A few days later I received a cheque for the full amount, interest and costs. If anyone wants the letter, feel free to PM me.0
