Just got a call from Nat west, A very friendly woman said she had noticed I had exceeded my agreed overdraft facility, and wanted to see if there was anything she could do to help.

I said that refunding my bank charges would make sure I am well within the black. She said she was aware that another depatment were dealing with this, but asked if I would like her to extend my facility ( again), I expalined I would be paid tomorow and the problem solved in the short term.

Are they playing good guy bad guy or just trying to confuse me ( which is not difficult), Very different approach to the man I spoke to last night dealing with my claim.

Seems strange, there is a post on the success board of Nat West paying out a similar ammount to my claim after just 1 letter. Any one any ideas of what they are playing at!!

I have just been to my local branch of natwest (where my bank account is held) and handed them a letter asking for all my bank charges back. This totals £3494.72 in charges which they have given me in just under 1.5 years.

They said they do not deal with this at the branch. But I got a receipt to say they received the letter. Should I send another letter registered post to a main Natwest office? If so which one?

I am prepared to take this to court if needed as one month they charged me £768 in charges for going overdrawn by under £200. They charged me for every single cheque I wrote even it if did not take me overdrawn.

Your help is appreciated, hopefully getting a receipt from the customer services desk is enough but you know how banks lose paperwork!

    Cheers,

    Nick

Note to anyone claiming from NatWest

I would recommend sending any claim letters to the folowing address:

    Customer Relations
    Ground Floor
    National Westminster House
    225 Shenley Road
    Borehamwood
    WD6 1TE

All correspondence regarding bank charge claims end up here anyway, so cut out the middleman!

I used this address and had my claim wrapped up in about two and a half weeks :-)

You've handed the letter in and they should pass it on to the relevant department. You have a receipt, so if they lose the letter, it's tough luck for them. You will continue with your timetable and not allow them to delay you with any excuses.

    Hi

I just got a response from Natwest from my first letter I sent them, this is what they said
Your Complaint regarding charges has been passed to me and I am sorry we have been unable to reach an agreement with you.

I am sorry that we have not yet been able to respond to you and would ask that you bear with us in the meantime. We are currently investigating and will respond to you as soon as possible

Now what should I do now, do I send the second letter or should I leave it till I get another reply and if I send the second letter do I send it to where I got this letter from and not the Branch I'm with.

I'll be glad for any feedback regarding this.

Experienced members of this forum reccommend that you always stick to your timetable.

I got a letter similar to yours and very shortly after an offer letter, however this was all within the timescale. How long have you been waiting??

Plus was your letter from Customer Relations in Borehamwood??

This is a standard letter, keep to your timescale and if they haven't actually answered your letter in the specified time, send the next one to the address you have been given.
